Oprah Winfrey‘s eagerly anticipated interview with the family of the late, great Michael Jackson aired in the US last night. The episode saw the chat-show queen speak at some length with Jackson’s mother Katherine, who opened up about raising him, his vitaligo, his image issues and plastic surgery, his marriage, the day he passed on to eternity, and so much more.
Subsequent segments featured candid discussion with Jackson family patriarch Joseph, as well as with Michael’s children Prince, Paris, and Blanket.
Having already expressed my initial cynicism about Oprah’s motive’s for the interview. Find out whether they prove true after the jump…

Wow. Intriguing in every sense of the word. While I remain somewhat pessimistic about Ms. Winfrey’s overall objectives here, the Jackson family presented both themselves and Michael in a manner which the media would have folk believing was non-existent.
Indeed, poise, grace, and elegance ushered in every answer to the sometimes suggestive and opinion-laden questions from Oprah. Not to be entirely ‘downed’, Winfrey – as she has become renown for – essentially asked questions many have sought answers for for years. Hence herself deserves kudos (even if her probing at times alluded to certain things).
A great watch.
