A cheque is most certainly a cheque. At least that’s what R&B crooner Ginuwine must have been thinking when signing up to be the face of wholesale discount chain Costco‘s new ‘Adult Chocolate Milk’ brand.

The ‘Pony’ singer will now serve as the spokes-model for the vodka-based drink, which has already been at the centre of much controversy. Touted as tasting “exactly like chocolate milk”, the beverage boasts a whopping 40% alcohol level, causing its critics to lament on potential alcohol abuse, particularly by youths.
Nonetheless, Ginuwine-featured billboards for the brand are to be erected on the Las Vegas Strip, with national television commercials currently being readied for transmission in the US more broadly.
Speaking of the shoot, which saw the 35 year old play ‘milkman’, he said: “It was a blast, getting to dress up as a milkman for the day. I really got into character.”{Source}

Though I understand and respect Elgin’s hustle (“if music ain’t paying them bills…”), it’s still somewhat of a shame. Once billed as the next Bobby Brown, and competing with Usher, it’s now come to this. A point made ultimately worse by the fact that he remains more talented than the majority of those topping charts these days. Sigh.
