I think that his sales are pretty goo considering the fact that he was not around to promote it and he had no hits. I doubt he or anyone else it was going to be a commerical success. I didn’t find the album too enjoyable with the exception of a few tracks, very few singles choice and I didn’t expect the critics to be kind, especially given his recent troubles. I don’t think going Gold should be considered a failure, but it is definitely underwhelming.
Perhaps this should be a lesson to him to keep his ass out of Jail so he can actually be around to pormote his ish and make appearances and performances. That certainly would have helped.
T.I.’s album was relaeased on Dec 7 with little promotion and became Gold in little over a month! That is good! It seems like he was well received to me!!

T.I is great and XTina’s vocals are flawless, this definately deserves a Grammy nom next year (if the Grammy’s are back to rewarding actual tallent).

@FUTURESTARDELUX Mariah has sold about 440k tho, T.i. has yet to reach 400k. Theres a difference there. Also i don’t think that Mariahs HSN sales were included with Bilbboards numbers, and if they were she’d probably be somewhere around 480 to 485k. So her numbers and certification are legit. What people have to remember tho is that sales are based on shipments. You have to ship more than whats expected in case the turn out is larger than expected. You could sale a million albums in a month, but if the album is in demand you would have to ship more, to make sure that it’s enough product out there.
He sold almost 150 or 160k his first week, but his label had to ship more than that to stores to be practical.
@TheMan I’m not dissing Mariah at all i’m just saying it’s hypocritical of Trent to throw shade at T.I for doing something her was praising Mariah for just the other day.

Well again Mariahs album is a holiday album, it’s not a regular Lp. Thats what makes it a little more significant. I don’t necessarily see where the diss was. He basically said it has done well for what it was. Going Gold with this album for T.i. is really good, because he has no hits, and the promo has been haulted due to his circumstances.
Holiday albums sale differently from other albums, you’ll have a hand full of them that will do very well. But it’s not like a regualr album. I hope and think this album will atleast carry him over the 500k mark.
The typography on the single cover is lazy… I can’t believe they have people doing things like this in-house at Atlantic. I wouldn’t expect someone to use a pre-installed Windows font on a single cover. This is why artists should have logos and branding, or else you get that Britney Spears always-different-every-time look. T.I. had one, but didn’t stick with it for long.
Oh, well. I’ll give them a pass since it’s a popular font.
As an Xtina fan i won’t get my hopes up about this song being a hit, it most likely won’t, but this song is amazing!
T.I should have come out with this song first. That GET BACK UP song with Chris Brown was garbage. This is probably one of his best on the LP. I’m glad it’s finally a single now.
