Jessie J Hits #1

Published: Sunday 6th Feb 2011 by Sam

Jessie J has cause for celebration tonight. For, the transatlantic star saw her second single ‘Price Tag’ rocket to the top of the Official UK Singles Chart.

The B.o.B assisted cut is lifted from J’s ‘Who You Are’ LP, which this week saw its release date pushed up by a month due to phenomenal demand. Her debut single ‘Do It Like A Dude’ peaked at #2 on the same tally merely two weeks ago.

Congratulations are most certainly in order!  {Fist pumps for the triumph of true talent}

  3. Aryo February 6, 2011

    this song is trash…do it like a dude deserved 2 go #1 but not this s***** price tag

  4. HottieHellYeahh February 6, 2011

    Love her!

  5. lola February 6, 2011

    “Price Tag” is so dull and dated. Wow, I guess anyone who is white, dresses like Lady Gaga, and has hype around her raspy, rough, jazzy voice can go Number 1 overseas with any single he/she puts out.

    @ARYO

    U R Kinda Right!

  7. KAT DELUNA FAN February 6, 2011

  8. Ethan February 6, 2011

  9. FRAN February 6, 2011

    Great!!! soo glad! The song is great & she really sings, deserved!

  10. coolhwip February 6, 2011

    It’s not the most amazing song but it’s not the worst song ever to exist. It’s a catchy radio friendly song with a nice message nonetheless and it’s good nonetheless. I’m just glad it dethroned Kesha.

  11. Justathought February 6, 2011

    Why doesn’t it deserve to be number one? It has a good message to the song and her voice is beautiful.

  12. TIMMI February 6, 2011

    WOW, I’m shocked. Happy, but shocked.

    @JUSTATHOUGHT

    You’re right. It does deserve to be number one. I’m personally shocked because good messages and beautiful voices aren’t exactly the way to a number one anymore.

    I’m really happy for Jessie J, she brings back my hope in the music industry. Real voice, real lyrics, real music. Can’t WAIT for the album!!

    Stop Hating!
    This Is A Great Song, With Amazing Vocals, And An Even Doper Message.
    Congrats Jessie J,
    You Deserve Every Bit Of Acclaim That Will Come Your Way This Year!

    Whitney Houston said she is the best new artist she’s heard in years who can actually sing.

  15. UGh February 6, 2011

    SO HAPPY, WE NEED MORE TALENTED PPL LIKE HER IN A DYING MUSIC INDUSTRY

    *FIST PUMPS*

  16. RealMusic February 6, 2011

    I think Do it like a dude should’ve hit number one also, because Price Tag is an average song but i love JEssie J and wish her much success

    O_O Well the vocals & production of the song aren’t all that. But, the quality & message definitely is #1 material. I think songs like that deserve to be #1, so we can see some quality in the world about deeper things.

  18. vegasgirl February 7, 2011

    Congrats Jessie J!

  19. browngirl February 7, 2011

    @LOLA i agree with you
    i think she’s a great singer but i still haven’t heard anything of hers that i want 2 hit the replay button on. im not really bothered about her album from what snippets i’ve heard on youtube.
    although i am interested in the chris brown song which she wrote called i need this. i’ve heard she’s covered it for her album. is this true?

  20. Justathought February 7, 2011

    @Timmi

    EXACTlY my point…if they aren’t talkin about whips, chains, and s** it shouldn’t be number one. Come on now

  21. Taylor swifts number 1 fan February 7, 2011

    Welldone, though i dont really like the song… i do love the “who you are” song.

  22. salz February 7, 2011

    she is an amazing artist!!
    and she did deserve to get to number 1 for her effort and natural talent, i just wish that the acoustic verisons of her songs were realsed as singles so that people would hear her real voice that is masked by unnecessary auto-tune

  23. Curtis February 7, 2011

    I love Jessie J, and hey someone needs to be #1 on them UK charts aside from RIHANNA. Is that why you mad, Spam and Rent? HAHA.

  24. Nichole February 7, 2011

    So, this is the lady that has supposedly written songs for Brit’s new album.

    I don’t know a thing about Jessie, but congrats on the UK #1 chart topper.

  25. delroy February 7, 2011

    Ri has had two no1s and i think 5 in total were not as obsessed with ri like the Yanks or about the face with no voice, i sy well done to Jessie J i like the fact that shes a Brit that sings live and has a good voice not a voice of a goat . Plus another talanted artist is at no1 for the second week in the album charts. Ms Adele well done to her, i have big respect for these two acts cos they don’t talk about s*** or jump on the whats hot genre (Usher and the others take note). There risk takers unlike to fools we hear constantly 24/7 on the radio and the vid stations.

  26. JAii February 7, 2011

    So happy for her! =]

  27. VA STAND UP!! February 7, 2011

    Good for her! She is so cute and I really like that song! Has a great message. Although I am a lil embarrassed to say I just heard it like two days ago. Lol!

    @Ethan: Yessir! ‘Champion’ is sitting comfortably at No. 2 spot! I love it! Can’t wait to see where it charts next week!
