And secondly so what that Gaga broke that record. It is a single record and Itunes records are broken every year by some other artist.
And the fact that the Gaga achieved this record is because she followed what Brit and her team did by releasing the single the same day as the single went to radio. So Brit is always first and the others always come second. She changed the game the way and now record companies are using this way.
Another thing is the fact that Gaga only broke that single record it is not like she broke everything that Britney did during her career. Gaga outsold everyone not only Brit but Rihanna, Beyonce and others with her Itunes sales. So don’t single out Brit just to put her down.
Stop belittling what Brit achieved. She sold 100Mil records and her tours and endorsement are multi million empires. She achieved so much and is the only artist from the new generation to have two diamond albums in the US.

I know people think it´s weird but I see many similarities between Gaga and Mariah. Maybe the problem with the song at first listenings is that it´s a little bit overproduced, that happens with Mariah many times too. But I like it. You appreciate more and more the songs with each listen. Let me tell you that Mariah has a great voice but her voice is not as great as Whitney’s or Celine Dion for that matter. And Mariah is not a perfomer she does not have the stage presence of either Whitney or Celine. They have great shows whereas she stands the whole time dressed in fairy costumes which are 10 sizes to small. And I have never seen Whitney or Celine wearing bandanas as tops or selling s** to sell records.

Although I’m still happy for her as a fan, of all her singles to be so massively huge, I find it odd that it’s this one. Because let’s face it, it’s her least liked song yet it’s enjoying ten times the amount of success that Bad Romance had, which never even went to #1, quite strangely enough. And by contrast, it’s her most loved song. Even haters love that song. I mean, if @S*** likes it, then what does it tell you about the song’s universal appeal.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Some songs are indeed growers, you don’t like them at first, but upon subsequent listens, they really do sound better to your ears. Don’t tell me this has never happened to you. And conversely, there are some songs that you do like at first, but being exposed to it for awhile the novelty wears off and it ceases to be fun to listen to. Now that being said, I’ve given BTW several chances (against my will, since I can’t avoid the damn song as of late) and I can’t get into it, so count me out as one of the fans who like everything she does.

I did not like Bad Romance at 1st but It did grow after a cpl spins, Mainly the Verses, I can relate to the lyrics. The song is about as good as a GAGa song can be which means its not that good IMO but Still Good if you catch my drift.

Congrats to her! I truely did like her from pokerface up until maybe Telephone but this new song, her whole image, and cockyness are just turn offs. I thought her grammy performance was ok but I still don’t like Born This Way. Its wayy too much going on production wise, the lyrics are good but I just can’t with the song. I think gaga is above that and I feel bad for her stans supporting a decent song that they don’t even like!

Ha ha, So Happy I Could Die is a cult favorite among Gaga fans, and while I do like it, I’m not as terribly fond of it as I am of her other songs like Just Dance, Paparazzi, Money Honey, Beautiful Dirty Rich, Brown Eyes, Bad Romance, Dance In The Dark, Monster and Teeth, which I consider to be some of her best songs, IMO.
But I do agree that she needs to make music on that level and not generic-sounding crap like Born This Way, which is easily her worst song to date. Even Love Game, which is my least favorite Gaga song, is a million times better than this hot mess.

@ True Blue I didn’t know I liked a cult favorite…lol. Interesting!… When I first heard that song, I was pleasantly surprised – I thought okay, she has it in her to make quality music. She just doesn’t seem to really want to make “the music” a first priority. It seems like she’s strategic about what she wirtes and what to play up to her audience. That’s a smart thing to do because you want to sell records, but it doesn’t always make your music authentic.
Love Game (was crap), but it is 10x better than BTW! I think Paparazzi, sucks too… but I really think people fell in love with the video concept more than they did the song.
