It seems that there is some justice left in the world after all as Rihanna’s new video for ‘S&M’ has been partially banned. The visual was deemed “inappropriate” on YouTube and marked as “unsuitable” for viewers under the age of 18 years.
The real question that arises from this situation is if major television networks will give this video heavy airplay. Although Rihanna claims that the video has been approved by MTV, Ciara’s ‘Ride’ was completely banned on BET with far less sexually suggestive scenes, thus there is no justifiable reason why ‘S&M’ would avoid similar rejection.
How will Rihanna achieve success now? Without the ability to flash her colourful panties collection how will her team encourage consumers to pay attention to her ‘music’? On the bright side, her possible future as a model for Victoria’s Secret looks quite promising.
‘S&M’ must mean ‘Smoke & Mirrors’. Unfortunately for her, that shroud is finally being lifted. Rejoice!
