Love King WANTED to be a great album. The songs had great beats and themes. But The-Dream’s ego took over instead of writing about the subject at hand.
iHope when he writes a love song he will learn to write about LOVE and not about his cars, money, and material things, then say “I love you” at the end and expect it to be a smash hit love song.
Nobody is interested in seeing you, The Dream. You and Ne-Yo may want to retreat back to behind the production board and just write good songs for others to perform.
Ne-Yo is a decent artist but nobody’s really thirsty to see him perform.

@Kisses I agree! The first album of his is one of my favorites ever. The second album was okay, and it took a while to grow on me. Now that last album was garbage! He lost me when he titled one of his songs “Makeup Bag.” lol. I don’t have a problem with creativity, but that song was nowhere near single material.

The Dream is an amazing songwriter and vocal arranger. He’s created hit songs for so many of today’s artist spanning from the crossover sensation Beyoncé to the urban songstress’s Brandy, Nieva, and Mary. J. Blige, to the reigning Princesses of contemporary pop, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Katy Perry. His ability to create relatable songs through a melodic force is his strength: songs that are so unique that they convey a messages of love, heartache, sexuality, independence and issues that people may face in real life The production supporting the melody is usually drenched in a electromechanical New Age R&B versus his more intimate work, an echoing ballad with slow burning synths. The Dream can write a hit without even trying, hence, his nickname “Radio Killa” because he successful crafts many different opus that just are hits and “kills” other producers. As far as his vocal ability, he’s not a great singer. The Dream relies on his songwriting and production to shine through because his voice is weak. In today’s times, one doesn’t have to be a great singer in order to be a success in the entertainment. All you need to have a gimmick, something that will attract listeners to actually “hear” you. The Dream’s vocal ability is very unenthusiastic . His voice is thin and weak and at times, very annoying. However, this doesn’t seem to stop him from being a “singer.” As long as he has a fan base, I guess he will continue to create music that people will seemingly eat up like free samples at the grocery store…
Nobody is gonna buy his garbage anymore. He will be wasting his own time and money doing this. He needs to just take his Single Ladies fortune and stay behind the scenes.
