In what is becoming somewhat of a trend for him, Chris Brown has announced that he plans to release another album this year. This despite ‘F.A.M.E’, his hotly anticipated ‘comeback’ effort, still being a week away fro release.

At an exclusive F.A.M.E. album listening party held in Los Angeles last night, Breezy announced plans for a second album to hit stores later this year. “That is the first part of the F.A.M.E album,” Brown told the crowd, which consisted mostly of Team Breezy street team members, after playing the album. “I’m coming out with another album six months later.”
With “over 400 songs” recorded for the new albums, Breezy revealed, he has more than enough new tracks to choose from for the set, tentatively titled Fortune.
Though, as a traditionalist, I’d much prefer Chris ‘work’ the ‘F.A.M.E’ album for the long haul, his still-unstable position in the industry is well-documented. Hence, ‘striking while the iron is hot’ may be the way forward for him for now. I mean it is hard to deny his logic when it’s been tried and tested with his numerous mixtape releases and features over the last few years. Sometimes ‘less is more’, yet it’s clear with Chris, the more he puts out there, the more of his fanbase he claims back. Therefore, I say bring on the new music. He’s too talented to be tainted with the mark of what happened; so however many releases it takes for the masses to ‘get’ that, I say so be it.

I don’t know how to take this! I love Fame! It’s the perfect follow up to Grafitti. I want him to work this album, but I’m on the same page with Sam. New music from Chris is 1)never a bad thing, 2)possibly going to bring new fans on board and 3) increases his chances of being recognized for the consistently creative artist releasing great music that he is. People need to see that this guy is King! I just don’t want anything to be taken away from Fame. Still, after I was reminded that the next album is titled Fortune, I started imagining how great that work can be. Fortune sounds hot!

Chris Brown has the potential of becoming a legend. Unfortunately, the legend status goes along with “social akwardness”. Meaning he can’t act like a regular dude or interact too much with regular people (twitter, that is). Take a look at the legends you know : Michael Jackson, Madonna, Janet, Beyoncé, Elvis Presley, Prince, Britney.
The mainstream media ain’t really checking him right now as they should because he is too accessible. His business is out. And it’s understandable because he’s only 21, he’s lively and he needs to feel the love of his fans to stand on his two feet after what he went through.
But in a few years , when he’ll be working on what will be his own “Thriller” or his own “I Am Sasha Fierce”, he will have to choose between being just a very successful artist of his era (Usher) or becoming a legend (Beyoncé).

The songs I’ve heard from FAME are really good and really better than the singles he’s released for the cd. There is promotion as I’ve seen commercials for it, he’s also performing on Good Morning America the day of the release, and ofcourse it isn’t the promotion Justin Bieber got BUT I do not think he needs it. The traditional music biz is dead. You market yourself online where most people are all the time anyway finding out about new things, you’ll do fine. #TeamBreezy is supporting him hardcore and I know people like myself who are grossed out by the continually bashing of Chris Brown. All of the comments about his apologies not being sincere, he’s cocky, he’s this and that….he’s an entertainer. I heard 2pac say one time, “I ain’t gotta be your role model, hold your hand, none of that. I give you these 12 songs, you give me them $12”.

Therefore, if you release an album next week with your minimal success, you’re looking at a possibly Gold album in six months( Keri is hotter and it took her 9 months) so, you are going to release another album in 6 months. The production cost alone have not been recouped from the first album. You are definitely striking while the iron is hot.

Releasing two albums in one year is something he has NEVER done before so that’s not a bad idea! It’s something new for him and like Sam said he might as well strike while he is hot.
Anywho, I knew something was up when he released that weak ass tracklisting with only 17 songs on it. He said that he had recorded over a thoudsand songs and was narrowing it down from like 400, so I figured he was gonna do either a re-release or another album soon. He has been working so hard and I think the more music he releases has been doing well for him. He has already produced several hits from this album and he has a few more he can release that I know will do well. I am more than positive that he can secure more hits for ‘Fortune’ later on this year. I am guessing ‘Fortune’ is gonna come out around the time he starts to tour in the US.

@ DEE I PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE ALBUM, LIKE 8 WHEN I AM FINISH FOR MY YOUNGER COUSINS, NOT JUST FOR MYSELF. YES I DO HAVE OTHER THINGS TO SPEND MY MONEY ON. BUT I AM A HUGE FAN OF CHRIS BROWN AND I WANT HIM TO DO GREAT, SO I AM WILLING TO BUY ONE LESS PAIR OF BOOTS, TO PURCHASE THESE ALBUMS FOR MY PEOPLE AND PUT MY FAVORITE BACK AT THE TOP. Chris sales will be fine, Team Breezy will take over next week. I am not worrying about his sales, I know I am personally doing my part. I am glad he split the album up in two, because there are some young Chris Brown fans under 17 that can’t afford a double disk, that he originally said he was releasing. Smart move Chris.
Chris put out 3 mixtapes last year that were very well received. He even earned a Grammy nomination from 1 (Fan of a Fan) for “Deuces” the platinum selling hit that spent 10 weeks atop the Billboard R and B and 27 weeks in the Hot 100. So if he can do 3 great mixtapes, then surely he can do 2 albums. As @Zania mentioned earlier, he even thought of doing a double disc called Fame and Fortune, but he knew that would be a pricey venture. Some folks are going grumble and complain no matter what. I agree that today’s music cycle moves quickly due to our digital age. It’s so easy to do a mixtape and just release it within hours. So I am fine with CB bringing the Fortune CD six months later as long as there are some gems. There are songs like Calypso, Sweetheart, and Undercover that have yet to see the light of day and I hope he gets Geronimo back from Kelly Rowland because that song is amazing and she is taking too long to release her album. The true joy will come when it’s time for him to perform his music which is where he wins. He will be performing on 106 & Park on March 21 and Good Morning America on March 22. And will be back on 106 & Park for Wild Out Wednesday and back to judge the Freestyle Friday session. Also an article in Entertainment Weekly said that CB has been fielding more request for televised performances since his SNL performance so I’m glad that I will see more of him.
I need for people to live his personal life alone. You know nothing about his personal relationships with the current girl or any others. I PROMISE YOU that you know nothing **giggles**

Whoever said that nobody complains when Rihanna and Lady GaGa put out new music in a short space of time must be living under a rock. People constantly complain about them being overexposed, especially Rihanna.
Anyway, this must be some sort of trend. Kanye and Nicki Minaj have announced plans to release new albums this year and their current albums came out at the end of last year. I think there are a couple more artists who put out albums very recently and plan on putting out new works this year. This was the norm back in the 60s and 70s, artists used to release new albums every year or sometimes even twice a year. But today in the multimedia age, that runs the risk of causing overexposure. I’d rather that Chris not feel the need to do so just so he can get back in the public’s good graces. If F.A.M.E. doesn’t succeed, then okay. But if it does, then he doesn’t need to try and spread himself too thin.
No matter how much Chris album sells, in the end of the day, the man is one of the most talented artist out there in the business. He has one of the strongest and hardest fan base. We will do our part and hopefully his album will go platnium even if it takes two to three months- its a major accomplishment. Chris was publicly hung by the media and viewers over the past two years, name how many artist who could’ve came back from all that adversity. Chris has talent and talent will always prevail and have longevity.
If TEAMBREEZY can just help point this out to people (especially those on Twitter bragging/praising/tweeting #np about the songs leaked from FAME, that he already gave us 3 FREEE albums (the mixtapes), the least people could do is buy Fame, instead of just listening for free. If people just download for free, they’re just helping ‘”THEM” (racists,haters,etc) sabotage this kid. Whoever leaked all his stuff so early, is trying to sabotage everything he does.

I was actually quite spoiled growing up. Whatever my parents didn’t get me my Godmother or Aunt did. I was the youngest & had two older brothers that were hell raisers & I was the lil princess that got whatever I wanted! I had a very privileged up bringing! Hell my first car was a damn Lexus! It was my moms old car that she gave to me as my graduation gift but I paid the insurance on that b**** & I filled that gas tank up every week! Now that I have completed college & have my degree I am working full time (not in my field but whatever) I can afford to buy as many copies of whatever album I choose to buy!!

His singles have been going platinum left & right, even the ones that were available for Free on a mixtape), he had a successful tour in Brazil last summer, he is about to go on tour next month, his movie that he starred in & co-executive produced has grossed over 70 mill, he has been making lots of club appearances & he even performed at a private B-Day party for Magic Johnson daughter’s sweet sixteen & I’m sure he got a nice check from that! Chris has been making money off of everything but album sales recently & there is no doubt that all of the people contributing to his success aren’t his direct fanbase!
Oh and lastly, I am 23 & will be 24 this August & I have been a Breezy fan since day one! All of my close friends are fans of his & will be buying his album next week so YES, he does have fans that are over the age of 18! Don’t act like you don’t know!

@X,Y,Z For one, you need to stop bragging about a “#1 movie”. The movie didn’t even gross $100 million even with all the renowed actors in it, and Chris wasn’t even a lead character. Chris Brown is supposed to be a mainstream artist. Why are we talking about an R&B chart NOW but in his ‘Chris Brown’ and ‘Exclusive’ days the majority of his singles were top ten. Bragging about an R&B #1 single makes you look weak. Call me when Chris is no longer allergic to the Billboard Top 10.
@Zania What trips me out, is that you state your opinion like it’s a fact. If she sounded so horrible live, and was only famous for her looks, why is she doing bigger arenas than your boy Chris who is supposedly “more talented”? People are not gonna spend their hard earned cash to go see someone look good. Rihanna’s concert reviews have always been fantastic, she consistently pulls out large crowds based on her VOICE. That is an indisputable fact. Maybe it’s your fave who the public thinks isn’t that talented considering before/after the incident he never headlined an arena tour, opened any major award shows, or was paid even close to the amount Rihanna is offered consistently to sing live at private events.
This situation just reminds me of Graffiti all over again. Considering FAME only reached #37 on iTunes pre-order before completely falling out, this album is not gonna do well, and the second album will be canceled. Remember these words, Team Breezy.

Its a lot easier to understand why her fans would feel that way about Chris. I was angry with him at one point but I never stopped listening to his music. I just didn’t like him as much personally. However in Rihanna’s defense like I almost always find myself doing here lately *kanye shrug* it was the beating that got her more exposure. However Good Girl Gone bad had been released in 2007. She had already won her grammy stacked up 5#1 singles and was THE best selling female in 2007. She didn’t get in the fight with Chris till 2009. So not sure why people think she used him to get more successful. Her career suffered just as much if not more then Chris Browns. Rihanna lost most of her urban American audience.

Rihanna has sold over 3.5 million copies of Loud WW since November 19 2010. This figure includes over 1,2m in the UK alone. This is in less than 5 months. She has also sold around 15 million singles from Loud and had two, three if you count Ems collabo no.1 global hits.
Love Ncki but you can’t compare as she has only just sold over a million copies of her album in the US…her worldwide numbers are just not there and she barely charted ww, whereas Loud topped the main pop charts in several countries including the UK, Canada and Swiz. You really can’t compare an international POP icon to a national hip hop star. It is what it is.
