Chris Brown is back! The singer/songwriter’s ‘F.A.M.E’ nabbed the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week, outselling its nearest competitor, Jennifer Hudson’s ‘I Remember Me’ by more than a whopping 100k copies.
‘F.A.M.E’ sold over an outstanding 273k at retailers, granting Brown the very 1st #1 album in his career. These figures represent more than a 150% increase in sales from the 102k that his previous LP, ‘Graffiti’, sold when released in December 2009.
On the other hand, Hudson’s ‘I Remember Me’ didn’t make quite the splash that as her last album. The record entered the chart lineup at #2 with 167k units sold. Her self-titled debut also premiered in the #2 position but sold more than 50k copies more with 217k.
Elsewhere on the tally, Adele’s ’21’ continued to sell consistently with sales exceeding 96k at #3 (less than a 2% drop from last week) and Kirk Franklin’s ‘Hello Fear’ surpassed all expectations by debuting at #5 with 87k. Rounding out the top 10 were Bobby V’s ‘Fly On The Wall’ with 87k at #9 and Justin Bieber’s ‘Never Say Never: The Remixes’ at #10 with 29k.
