Breaking the trend of portraying young artists with exceptional vocal ability, Rihanna hit the stage on this evening’s ‘American Idol’. The Nivea model performed her new single, ‘California King Bed’, from her platinum-certified ‘Loud’ album.

Rihanna actually sounded…dare I say it…great! Is it that she finally decided to stop smoking cigarettes before she goes on stage or has she taken some of the money from her hair colour budget and invested in a vocal coach?

Either way, this is the 1st time that Rihanna has earned the title of singer. Whether she will manage to keep it is entirely up to her.

I guess the return of Beyonce has whipped everybody into shape. I’m so proud.
