This seems to be the mantra Beyonce‘s team are adhering to. For after reigniting interest in ‘Run The World (Girls)’, and generating a buzz with album cut ‘1+1’, the superstar is to release the 2nd official single from her forthcoming ‘4’ LP next week.

The record label just sent us over a email about her second single. Its a song called ‘Best Thing I Never Had’ and will be sent out to us next Wednesday, June 1 I am sure we will play it for you guys when we get it here at the station.

SONG #2(Best Thing I Never Had) ———- This mid-tempo song has lots of drums much like “Run The World.” “Babyface wrote the song,” Beyonce told JustJared.com. The track is about karma and revenge and kicks off with, “What goes around comes back around.” Some key phrases from the song include, “Best thing I’ve ever had” and “Best thing you’ve never had.” The best line in the song goes, “You showed your ass, baby I saw the real you.” The song closes with, “Sucks to be you right now.”
Concrete Loop:
Song 2. The second song they played for us was another mid-tempo ballad. In the track Beyonce sings, “You don’t deserve my tears,” “Thank God you blew it,” “Sucks to be you right now” and more. Reminded us of “Irreplaceable” with the song content but overall the song was good. Beyonce said BabyFace wrote the track for her and told CL exclusively that she was“very emotional in the studio while recording”. (3/5)
Though we’ll hold judgement until hearing the actual song, one has to give Bouncy’s team kudos – with caution. I mean, on the one hand, I remain a bit baffled as to why the album is being released so soon after being announced. For, the Lady GaGa campaign should be a good indicator that it takes time to ensure buyers will invest in a product these days (indeed she has been plugging her LP since the beginning of the year). That said, it’s great to see her team be reactive; ‘Girls’ isn’t setting the charts alight (yet will likely peak album release week), so onto the next single. With ‘1+1’ now in the fray, it appears they’re going for the flood-fill the market approach. Whether it’ll pay off, we’ll just to see come the week of June 28th when ‘4’ hits stores.

I think it is safe to say people are tired of Bey, I mean she haven’t taken much time off since she been out, its more like she can’t get enough of herself, becuz the public has gotten enough of her. She has given us all she has what else can she give us! She has yet to leave us with a classic album like the greats of Whitney, Janet, Madonna, Mariah, and even Mary. She’s just 1 hair toss, 2 ass shakes, and 3 vocal runs away from JLo, its not that much difference in there style accept JLo knows how to act a lil, and give indepth interviews! I swear I believe Beyonce has Asberger (look it up if you don’t know) she has the same emotion and vocabulary in all her interviews, she rarely show any emotions!
1+1 is just a single she performed, for fans that want that type of music, “TTEOT” was not officially ever released, she knows what she’s doing. She reignited interest in “RTW”, it may not have gone to number one, but she wowed people with her performances.

This isn’t a good look at all for a Icon/legend to come off looking desperate. That leaked YouTube video of her performing 1+1 back stage was pity promotion. It’s also kind of ironic that this song is about Karma. Remember last year how every went hard on Xtina while she was going through a divorce, and a lot of trouble and actually her album was really good. Bionic is really underrated, it’s this kind of album who’ll get its recognition with the years passing by.

i really appreciate artist who are more into their artistry than being commercial. if beyonce’s new music is about her taking her artistry to another level then i will support her. the thing is for like 15 years she has been too commercial, and i am not saying its her fault but i really hope with this album she wasnt hoping of having a no 1 album or stuff like that but excellent songs done from the depth of her heart.

I can’t wait for this single, I know it’s going to be good because its produced by Babyface. And I love 1+1. Probably watched that Idol performance about 10 times now. It doesn’t matter about the charts really because it doesn’t have to be good quality to get to #1. A lot of songs on the lower end of the chart should swap places with the higher end of the chart if it was based on quality and not on sales. 🙂

Say whatever you want about her singles. You know you will eat your own words if you ever see Beyonce on stage with ANY artist today. She would kill him/her instantly. No doubt.
As somebody here mentioned, “B’Day” had “Deja Vu” which didn’t become a huge success, and then she released “Irreplaceable” which *saved* the album. This single could be that song; The song which will attract LP-buyers. “B’Day” debuted with more sales than her other albums, so there is still a chance. It is early to predict anything about the album sales of “4”, but I am highly convinced that she will open with at least 350K in the US.
oh…and this fast second single thing just works in the US…. in germany for example RTW isn’t even released officially
I am however a bit worried if there is enough time to promote her album. I mean, Gaga has been shoving down our throats that her album “Born This Way” would be released since May 2010 or something and her promotional campaign was massive. I actually hope Beyonce pushes the album back a couple of months…. Don’t want her to flop when just a small percentage of her fans know she has a new album out. Gaga made sure everybody know, and it has paid off.

RTW was horrible, and Beyonce and her team knows that. Didn’t she say in her interview in Billboard that she wanted something different not the same, and that single was just that. How did the other girl need remixes if she set a record with her first single and changed the release of singles which have been followed by Beyonce and other artist. Her second single reached top ten without a remix. So stop using the two remixes as excuse as they are the first of her career.
The first single hasn’t even hit its peak yet and some people are so anxious to call this album a flop when such a label is not only premature but is highly unlikely based on Beyonce’s fan base alone. Some of you need to be reminded that B-day didn’t get a number one single until the third release – “Irreplaceable” and IASF only had one number one single- “Single Ladies” and both albums were a success. Beyonce is not a ‘singles artist’ and people will buy the album knowing they will enjoy it as a whole.

I think they should compare this albums start to the start of Beyonce’s prior albums and not other artists. I’ve always noticed a difference in singles charting between Beyonce and other artists like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears. While the singles from their past and current albums go straight to number one without video or promotion it has never been like that for Beyonce. Even Single Ladies took a much slower bumpy ride to number one and other singles never got there and she STILL had great album sales. I’m just saying that we have to wait and see what will happen. Mose people have only heard one or two songs from the ‘4’ album, not enough to know if they will want to buy the album or not. But many people have come to expect overall solid albums from Beyonce and that’s not based on one or two singles.

I clearly remember when Rihanna released “Russian Roulette” Beyonce fans going in on her and talking about how much of a flop she was. When Rated R didn’t sell millions you ridiculed her once more. The facts are just as Russian Roulette was a bold risk to take as it was different than the mainstream at the time so is RTW; Rated R was a non-commercial album and Rihanna clearly stated in numerous interviews that she wasn’t concerned about figures and that the album was therapy for her. I don’t even like to compare artists, but some of Beyonces stans are always somewhere trying to downplay someone elses successes in order to make their “queen” look good. I’m not the biggest fan of Beyonce. To be honest, I liked her way more in her Dangerously In Love days. I haven’t felt her since, especially with this era, but I’m not going to hate. She’s a great performer and singer, not necessaily my forte, but she’s the business; however, her fans erk me to no end. Let her be great, but do you really have to bash every other female artist out there? It almost seems like they actually feel superior to fans of other artists because their fave has been more successful. Its a bit ridiculous if you ask me.
With that being said, I honestly don’t see what direction she’s going in this era. I hated RTW, but I’ve found it stuck in my head the last few days after she killed those performances. I still think the song is pure s***, but it has grown on me significantly. 1 +1, is an ok song, but nothing this era has really caught my attention and made me fall in love with it. I do hope she receives the successes with her ‘4’ album. I’m not her biggest fan, but I don’t wish failure or misery on anyone.

Based on her combination of vocal ability, choreography, and stage presence, her package outshines others. That’s the point that those who honored her at the Billboard awards were making.

Bday is not less mainstream then the other albums because of the sales but because it was more experimental. Songs like the Green Light, Get me Bodied , Freakum dress and Ring the alarm were totally different to anything from DIL album. It was more urban and had a bit of funk in there and also more live instruments. It had swagger and a more confident and mature Beyonce.It showed in the live tour wich was for me the best live tour of Beyonce’s career.
The songs on DIL and IASF anyone could sing it but Bday songs no other artist could sing it as it was pure Beyonce. The anger and emotion and vocal controle on Ring the Alarm was great and I don’t think anyone could sing it like her.

RR is a good album from Rihanna.It’s the only album of her you feel the instruments and passion in her voice in certain tracks like FireBomb or ColdCase Love.But it wasnt all that.

Anyways, I just hope that the album will be as great as it’s been promised to be. So far 1+1 is a pretty good sign, and completely makes up for the abomination of RTW. TTEOT is also a pretty decent track. I’ll admit, the way Bey has so far gone about in promoting her project has been pretty shoddy. I hope it’s a problem she rectifies VERY soon, because after nearly a decade and a half in this game and having already released several albums, you CANNOT be fumbling at promotion, and a change in management is no excuse. I think Bey should really hire a manager rather than attempt to do this herself. Being a manager and an artist are two jobs that are very difficult to do on their own, trying to wear the hat of both is something I would recommend to a very seldom few.
And as for the people blaming the failure of RTW on her fans/stans because of their annoyance, come on. Every pop star hasa fanbase that includes some psychos, and Bey stans are really not the worst of them. Some Gaga stans have been known to come up starting s***, even to the point of impersonating other commenters, has that resulted in Gaga flopping? Britney stans have been insane since ’98, has she always been a flop? It’s a little stupid to be be saying someone flopping is karma for some annoying stans.

You do realize that Beyonce has been managing herself since the IASF era. Matthew said himself that he had stepped back and let Beyonce take the lead role in everything and that is what led up to Beyonce deciding to be for herself. So, I wouldn’t say her managing herself is why promo has been rocky, I think it has been rocky because according to Jason from BW the song & video were supposed to be released stimotaneously on May 16 and she had still been wrapping up a lot of packaging when the song leaked.
Anyways, Jason the moderator of Beyonce World said that “Best Thing I Never Had” is a brilliant song and very radio friendly, but it is very different from everything and an odd single choice. He also predicted it would either be an “irreplaceable” or a “broken hearted girl” in terms of success. He also said that “Party” probably would’ve been better single choice since it is more electo pop, but with a “Freakum Dress” feel to it and great for the summer, but she probably release that after the album drops.

The Deluxe Edition of “4” will have 3 new songs, I know one is called “Schoolin’ Life”. It is also suppoed too come with a DVD of her working on the album (I’m pretty sure this is to shut all the haters up about how she is involved in the creative proces).

Personally I don’t think we have seen the Billboard Awards and video bump yet. So while I think it will go up from its current position, I really don’t know for sure if the bump will be big enought to see it surpass its peak position. So I stand corrected, I should have said it ‘may not’ have peaked yet, we’ll see. It all remains to be seen. I know what Beyonce has done in the past, but life is unpredictable, so you really can’t say one way or the other. Anyone that doesn’t thing album sales doesn’t matter doesn’t know much about the music business. The record company gives you money upfront as an advance for you to get the producers and musicians you need, studio time (which isn’t free), money go to videos and other promos. All of that money to get that done comes out of the record company’s pockets. Then the money is taken out of the royalties the artist gets from the songs selling. If you’re not making enough to pay back what the record company gave out to you, then it can eventually lead to you being dropped from the label. There’s no word on whether Beyonce front the money from this project out of her own pockets. But from the way the record company is acting, you can tell they put up some money for her. An artist that doesn’t care about sales would not need to put out a promo song or offer it free along with a pre-order to get sales. So trust, she’s interested in sales.

If Beyoncé was making the popular stuff, meaning the overdone euro-pop trash, people would be complaining how she hasn’t grown as an artist in almost 15 years. Please child, 15 years of hit after hit is enough for me. I know the girl can make popular songs, what I need now is her to make meaningful classic songs.
Just cause she isn’t on the top of the charts doesn’t mean she’s a flop. It’s easy to get caught up in the numbers, but when Beyoncé fans throw out numbers like say, 16 Grammy’s — haters go crazy about how even Diana or Michael didn’t get that so they AREN’T VALID. Same could be said about Rihanna’s #1 hits, or Gaga’s sudden popularity. It took Michael several albums to get to where he was, does that make Gaga better…no it’s about the music.
At this point in her career, charts can’t measure Beyoncé’s success. Like I said, she’s already been up there competing with artists that could ACTUALLY sing back in her early days. Leave the charts to the up and coming young’uns that need to prove themselves.
For the person in denial, RTW wasn’t as commercial viable as other songs out there.
1. It EXPLICITY catered to half of the population. I think even the gays had a hard time feeling this song. I heard most wanted the song to go “Who run the world, gays!”
2. Lyrics were too strong for a club banger (can’t imagine many straight guys getting’ down to that).
3. The structure of the song initially threw many off.
Anyone can tell this new material is not what the Britney’s, Rihanna’s, and Kesha’s are putting out. Apparently that’s what people want, but that don’t sit well with Gaga and Beyoncé so just appreciate them for their artistry.
The lack of heavy promotion so far tells me that Beyoncé may be relying on letting her artistry sing for itself.
I love Gaga, but I’m disappointed she took drastic measures with the Amazon .99 cent sales. She’s estimated to hit about 1 million sales on her first week. She’s facilitating her sales, it’s not as authentic.
Anyways, this is the new direction Beyoncé is deciding to take. Some may not agree with it or some may love it (me), but eat it for what it is, not what’s it’s “supposed” to taste like.
The reason why Beyoncé isn’t considered a flop although the songs are not as popular this era is because she’s been making popular music for 15 years and I’m sure her fans as well as herself, feel like they need something fresh. Mind you she’s only officially released one song so far, it’s not fair to judge this harshley in the albums infancy.
My 2 cents and personal opinion:
DIL > Rihanna’s, Katy, and Kesha’s discography combined. Extreme? Haha. =)
Let me just say I’m speaking from a music fan, a not such a big fan of Beyonce, I like her but I’m not a STAN…. Now I respect that she is back in the game cause I’m kinda tired of hearing Rihanna and Lady Gaga on my Radio, TV, and where ever else they play music.. Now 1+1 is a single on her album just because it doesn’t have an official video to back it up… it is still a single cause she perform it live for the public ( we the fans, viewers, and audience) , and it is the opening track for the album… so it is consider a single, just like all the tracks on the album yeah it may or may not get radio plays but it is release to the public to hear… so consider it a Single. Whether it is a Promotional Single or not… It is a SINGLE point blank period… If we can buy it and hear it before the album is release… than it is a what?????? SINGLE… I think the reason why she is releasing her singles a little early is because a lot of people don’t properly purchase albums and singles anymore.. Let’s be real with todays technology we can download an whole album or single without purchasing it.. This does hurt the artists pockets and the Record companies… I.E. Ciara.. ( I’m a huge fans of her) but the early leaks of the albums, made her had to push back release dates and due lack of promotion because we ( the viewing audience) had hear the entire album before it was release.. Now with Run the World ( Girls) I’ve personally like the song before the video came out.. because it was something different and the beat got me up on the floor dancing… Many people didn’t like it at first but once the video came out and the live performance it change some heart and didn’t…. That is okay.. People tend to forget that these artists are still human beings they are entitled to their errors… People put certain people on a pedal stool and assume that they have to be perfect all the time.. i.e. Michael Jackson…all he wanted to do is make good music and entertain us that is all and that is what Every Artists including Beyonce really want to do.. You aren’t going to like everything they do that is fine because we aren’t here to please everyone..

I am not a Beyonce hater..I have purchased each of her previous albums..but you must admit that this upcoming album (based on songs released) STINKS…. I don’t know if I am going to buy it just yet…. I think people are getting tired of the hair throwing and booty shaking.. it gets old quickly and she needs a new “GIMMICK” or to try and just sing period. No more screaming, no more gimmicks, no more relying on hair throwing and thigh shaking –because people have grown tired of it… RTW had a nice beat; but just like a few other Beyonce songs..u grew tired of it after a week or two… Beyonce has yet to put out an album that will be a period album or one that you want to listen to for years down the road… I still like Upgrade You — but not much else from her collection… Beyonce just sit down for a minute and regroup and come back as a mature and grown up lady — and not a 30 year old Willow Smith (RTW –was something that Willow Smith should have sung)…
