Kelly Rowland dons her dancing shoes in the video for ‘What A Feeling’ – her collaboration with Italian DJ, Alex Gaudino.
Directed by Frank Gatson, the vibrant clip comes at the aptest of times; for, with the (Europe-only) song now playlisted at every major radio station across the UK, its visual will no doubt give it a boast as the summer approaches.

Favouring Rowland’s ‘Forever & A Day’ video, this excels where the former did and didn’t. Vibrant, lush, and colourful, the clip really captures the essence of the song well. What’s more, with choreography having been absent from many of Rowland’s Dance offerings, she delivered on that front too (kudos to Chris Grant on routine). That said, I’m still waiting for Kelly pop, lock, and drop it as she did in the ‘Lose My Breath’ video. I guess with the right song?

Great video! Why no release in the U.S.? It’s a great song too. Both Beyonce and Kelly haven’t done much in the way of promotion for their songs. I’d like to see them both be in the top 10, they’ve got true talent! I have to say Kelly’s voice is my favorite, while Beyonce’s performances are my favorite thing of hers.

As much as “Motivation” has grown on me and as much as I am happy that it is achieving so much early success stateside, I still favor her dance songs. Been a fan of Kelly’s and Beyonce’s since DC. Love them equally. Why must we continue to pit them against each other? The only thing they have in common is that they are both African American women who grew up in the south and they both were once in a group called Destiny’s Child. That’s it.
They make completely different types of music.
I understand your frustration in terms of Kelly not getting the recognition that she deserves. I have felt this and continue to feel this frustration because I am such a huge fan of Kelly’s but I never have put this reality on Beyonce. Doesn’t this say MORE about the people who consume music rather than Beyonce? Remember, we are dealing with people who think that Lady Gaga invented dance music (wow). BTW, love Gaga but I also know music.
Kelly is a brilliant talent & just because people refuse to get.into.to.it. doesn’t mean that Beyonce has anything to do with it. These people simply don’t get it. This is nothing new in the pop world. Usually the most people talented people are overlooked: see Janelle Monae.

Well thanks, I ALWAYS go hard for Kelly and originators. I dont even like it when people call her the queen of dance now, because she does so many different types of music and looks, dance may be the main singles, but the girl can hang in any genre perfectly. And I like that she really dances like someone said earlier, she’s not being showed up by her background dancers (like Bey) she can keep up wit them and get DOWN on the flo. She reminds me of Janet in that her dance style and moves are getting more recognition than her vocal talents, and she’s not being apreciated enough for what she can do vocally. She’s not the best vocalist on the planet but (like Janet) she can really SING some songs but when she does get recognition its always for the dance songs.
I pit them against each other because I think Kelly’s better. Beyonce is the better vocalist, but she aint creative, and she dont have her own style and image, and never did, Kelly always did. And Kelly was always thinking out side of the box as far as her image and sound, while Bey was always safely in the box, and doing the same type on songs and styles that she got from others, kelly always kept her own. And its aggravating to see someone so classic and original being put aside for someone so phony and safe. But thats my opinion (mixed with facts) even with proof some disagree. But thats how I see it.
Tho we disagree on my feelings about Bey, Im glad you can understand where Im coming from. And all I want is the BEST for kelly, I love her and really dig her style and music, and I think we need more and more black women like her who arent afraid to think outside the box the way she does.

The fact of the matter is that Kelly is TRAGICALLY underrated and i cannot wait to see her get her just desserts! She is BEYOND so many people who are being shoved down our throats who are supposed to read as “talented” that’s it’s becoming more and more difficult to deal with the foolishness.
I know that Beyonce falls into this category for you & I will not fight you on that anymore, but just let us hope that Kelly will get the shine that she truly deserves.
