The video for Lady GaGa‘s ‘The Edge of Glory’ premiered today. Initially set to be directed by Joseph Khan, the clip is instead credited as being creatively helmed by GaGa and her team after a “change of plans on set”. Hmm.

She’s most certainly served up better. The confusion on set seems to have translated into the video. And while she’s unlikely to suffer any immediate backlash, for an artist who prides herself on her visual output, this isn’t the best of looks.

In my honest opinion, Lady GaGa has not had a great music video since Bad Romance. I have enjoyed some of the following videos to some extent (others not so much), but she has always managed to hold my attention and interest throughout the entire video. Edge of Glory is an amazing song and this is such a huge disappointment. It is her worst video yet. There’s nothing engaging about it and it looks like it costs $100 to make. Even if there were problems with the director, she should not have rushed this. She didn’t need to put out a video for this song just yet, as we got the Judas video a little over a month ago. If you look at her other videos, there tends to be at least a 2/3 months span of time between the release of each one. And I don’t understand why there was a fall out with Joseph Kahn. She’s worked with him before and he has directed some amazing videos.
