They may not have an official name but they are the driving force behind one of the highest selling albums to date.

For it seems that when it comes to fan support, there is no greater fan base that of  Brit Soul diva Adele because much to the delight of XL Recordings, her album ’21‘ is the highest selling album in the world again.

For the 18th time.

Find out more below…

With 217,000 units sold this week, the total sales figure  for ’21’ are now 7.94 million copies and combined with what her debut effort ’19’ sold this year, the performer has shifted a mind blowing 9.5 million records in just seven months.

All without the aid of controversial tactics which have been the backbone for many of her lessor competitors.

Below her is Beyonce‘s ‘4′ which has now sold a total of 908,000 copies globally in less than three weeks. With 165,000 units sold this week alone , ‘4’ should reach the 1,000,000 copies sold mark within the new few days if sales remain consistent.

Lady GaGa‘s ‘Born This Way‘ is this weeks #3 with fans around the world buying 152,000 copies of the album placing it 15 chart positions above Rihanna‘s ‘Loud’.

The album, which spawned the singles ‘Man Down’ and ‘Only Girl In The World’ moved 42,000 units within the last seven days surpassing the efforts of Jennifer Lopez‘ ‘LOVE?’ which came in at #24 with 34,000 copies purchased around the world in the last week.

Let’s all raise a glass to the success of authentic talent.
