‘Lay It On Me’ singer Kelly Rowland sat down for an extensive interview today with Billboard.com. Rowland, whose latest studio effort ‘Here I Am’ is due in stores tomorrow (July 26th), answered fan-tweeted questions on topics ranging from plans for album promotion to the commercial response of ‘Miss Kelly’ and, of course, the ever-so-rumored Destiny’s Child reunion. Yes she is doing exceptionally well on the Urban Charts! And I commend her for that! But what about the main charts? This album will be looked upon as KELLY’S debut even though it’s not! This interview was real and down to earth. she didn’t try to be fake or anything like that. she was just being the sweet lady that she is. i have love Ms. Kelly since DC. and when simply deep came out i play that cd until it scratched. and when MsKelly came out i went to wal Mart and got that too. i can’t wait till tomorrow so i can go to target and get HERE I AM. because she has work very hard on her album and you can tell that she really do love what she does.

@ O_o I respect your opinion but I have to beg to differ. I like Here I Am because its a diverse compilation of songs for all her fans. Now what I also agree with is that this album does not have much depth as her previous efforts but to compare it to a Beyonce album and say Beyonce albums have more depth heart soul and integrity. Please stop with those lies. She just released an album that was deep and not full on candy elementary tunes. Lets see Get Me Bodied, Naughty Girl, Suga Mama, Freakem Dress, Single Ladies, Diva, shall I go on…where was the depth in those songs??? NOw when Kelly was singing songs with depth and meaning nobody was paying attention then. Like I said I have been a fan since day one and the album “Simply Deep” lyrically was here best album. Damn the fact it was not a big chart topper and had hit single after single it was a GREAT BODY OF WORK. Umm there was songs like “Love Again” “Every Thought of You” “Better With Out You” f*** all of Ms. Kelly and the Diva Deluxe.

@KellyMotivation I see what you mean in a sense of it being urban. To me when I think of an urban album I think of a Trey Songz, Monica, Fantasia, and Mary J. Blige. To me those are artist who are straight urban. Kelly to me is offering more Pop, R&B, and a lil Dance. Songs like Commander, Down for Whatever and those bonus songs on the Deluxe copy seem a little dance to me. Songs like Turn It Up seems a lil pop to me. But hey I feel you. I like when she sings dance. And I cannot wait for the European version but until then I will rock out to this.

and y’all might think I’m crazy but the Motivation Rebel Rock Remix could have gotten Kelly a top 10 hit if that version was released to Pop radio…
