Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, and Miguel were just a few of the stars were out last night for the taping of the UNCF’s ‘An Evening With the Stars’. As reported here, though taped last night in Pasadena, California, the event will air on BET September 25th with performances from Jill Scott, Patti Labelle, Marsha Ambrosius, and more.

Thanks YBF!:
A much worthy cause also providing some quality entertainment. Thanks to Bet.
some of your awards shows and so forth have been lame, but I think the uncf
telecast will be an exception.I will be watching.
MARSHA IS PACKING THE POUNDS BACK ON.
Everyone looks good 🙂
Yawn! I’m tired of Badu, Jill, Patti, etc. I want to see more Tamia, Deborah C**, Carl Thomas, Kelly Price. And Marsha’s dying cat noises are overrated.
Can’t wait to see the show. The lineup of performers is good. They all looked pretty good.
I was lucky enough to attend this event. It was in Pasadena CA where I live. This was a truly amazing night. Yes the performers were great…Pattie was no joke, Jill sang Blessed and killed it…Erykah and Marsha and just everyone was great but it was the students that they featured that touched me the most. One girl is in college getting her MD and her PHD at the same time…another girl is a journalism major and is going to intern in China…one man they featured was the youngest person to EVER fly across the world by himself and started a non profit to teach kids about planes…These are black students who are doing amazing things. It just shows that we can do anything when we put our minds to it…I was so proud to be in a room full of other black people celebrating education and positivity. It was truly beautiful and if anyone reading this was unable to attend I really hope that on September 25 you tune and watch the show and text UNCF to 50555 and help continue the amazing work they are doing in students lives.
Julien, you missed the forest for the trees. I was there as well am it was an awesome experience. Marsha was amazing as usual and Tamia, Deborah C**, Carl Thomas, Kelly Price are all has-beens, granted has-beens that can sing, but has-beens no less. Ledisi was the best out of everyone. Kenny was funny with all his re-takes, but that’s what makes a show you see live all the work that goes into it. Also, I saw Kenya Moore up close. DAMN she looks good I almost asked her out.
