In a bid to shed the Barbie gimmick which has come to define them, Pop starlets The Saturdays are hitting the festival circuit hard this year prior to their arena tour in December.
There most recent stop was the V Festival in Chelmsford this past weekend, where they performed a bevy of their biggest hits
Check out the ladies do what they do best (and in some instances, worst) below…
Why do UK musical acts lack vocal ability and/or stage presence? USA’s Danity Kane would have OBLITERATED this performance. The same would be said any incarnation of Destiny’s Child and even the Pussycat Dolls. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE The Saturdays. Well, I love Vanessa, Una, and Rochelle, but I like a lot of the group’s recordings. But live??? #NoMaam.
The Saturdays, The Sugababes (all incarnations), JLS, etc. all lack LIVE vocal ability and/or stage presence. Sure, each group has their standouts like the Vanessas, Keishas, Mutyas, Jades, and Oritsés, but overall UK groups just seem to suck as a whole. JLS is nothing compared to N’Sync, Blackstreet, or Backstreet Boys. The Sugababes couldn’t touch Destiny’s Child. I mean, are the standards across the pond just that much lower than over in the US???
by issues they were f***** , they need to stop dancing , or not sing issues lol
@Skyweezy
Have u confused JLS members?? Did u really just call Oritse the shining star of JLS, do you not mean Aston, the small one, who is the only member of te band who can sing and dance
I was really impressed it’s better than their other festival appearances and I love the choreography for All Fired Up. Also it’s great to hear Vanessas voice sounding better it’s still not fully back but this is the best vocals I’ve heard from her in s long time especially in Issues
What some people don’t understand is that it’s so hard to dance and sing at the same time…
Decent not that great, but alright!
Love the sats though!
Vanessa sounded better. Rochelle is still consistently improving.
@SKYWEEZY
What I am noticing is that certain acts go through a lot more preparation to make sure everything is right before they hit that stage. Beyonce’s mic is always clear and crisp, the music loud enough and all the extras set. Kelly has gotten it right but not lately. The mic and sound system play a big role, as do backing tracks etc. Presentation is the product to be quite honest.
You hear these girls sing acoustically and they sound great. Same goes for most UK acts.
I’ve seen a better live performance of All Fired Up but you can clearly tell they were really tired. I still give them props for singing LIVE & dancing. They just need to work on their stamina a bit more is all.
They were alright. I like the song Issues.
