Interestingly, the last Hip-Hop album to cross the million first week mark was Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter III’ in 2008.

According to final figures from Billboard, the album debuted a little under a million copies, selling:

964,000 copies

Still, it’s an epic-epic feat. Especially in an age where album’s are struggling to sell. Kudos to Weezy and co.
