Fans of Canadian-born emcee Drake can now feast their eyes on his latest serving – the visual for the hit single ‘Headlines’. The first lifted from his forthcoming sophomore album ‘Take Care’ (October 24), the song has already found itself in Billboard’s Top 30. But, will the Lamar Taylor-directed visual aid boost Drizzy from its comfortable (two weeks in a row) #23 spot on the charts?
Check out ‘Headlines’ and give us your verdict:
Same ole’ Drake with choir-directing hand movements and pointing. The only excitement in the video were the near-seizure inducing flashes, but otherwise it was a yawn-fest.
Aside from that, and seemingly the direction many-a-video are headed these days, this video was pretty much a 4 minute commercial. Can’t knock the hustle, I guess. But if creativity in rap videos was already on a respirator pre-Recession, we all know it’s resting with the Lord above now.
