Nicole Scherzinger today sprung quite the surprise on her fans. For not only did the Pop vixen debut her latest single ‘Try With Me’ – she brought with it its accompanying video!
Penned by the Nervo Twins and produced by Soulshock and Karlin, the cut is the lead single from the European re-release the singer’s ‘Killer Love’ LP. It will also reportedly serve as the latest Stateside release from the serially delayed US incarnation of the project.
What are you waiting for?
Rubbish.
At this stage, there really is no point beating about the bush when it comes to Nicole and this project. The song is quite simply a boiling hot mess. The video doesn’t redeem either.
Despite a solid array singles, success in other territories, X Factor and hordes of promo, the US audience still aren’t buying into her brand. Something this faux Taylor Swift cut won’t help.
And with ‘help’ being something her US presence is in much need of, she’s fired a blank with this one. Like really, it’s shambolic to be this ‘deep’ in the game (and have that much backing) and yet your sound, image, and personality are still unsolved mysteries. One minute she’s popping it and tossing it in ‘Right There’, and when that didn’t catch on, she’s now Alice in Wonderland. Girl…
Here’s usually the part where we’d express some some sort of optimism. Unfortunately for Nicole, we’ve all but run out.
