Have a feeling ‘4’ will get more nominations in 2013, it’s noms will be split just like B’day’s nominations were split between two Grammy years. She still has 2 potentially large singles, End of Time and I Was Here. Regardless, she has enough Grammy love for a lifetime. She’ll be walking back across the Grammy stage to accept another award sooner or later.

How did a CD that only sold 1.5 million in the us become a contender with 1 that has sold over 3 million in the us and the other almost 2 million in the us?

Anywho, I am sooo happy for Breezy! I pretty much figured he was gonna get a nomination for FAME and from the looks of it he doesn’t have too much competion in that category! Hopefully he can take that one home but you just never know with the Grammys! *shrugs*
I’m not surprised about LAMN, it’s not one of his best songs lyrically, but it was a huge hit so I knew it was gonna get some nominations. I just wish his team had submitted better records from FAME, like ‘All Back’ and ‘Beautiful People’. His best records always get over looked SMH! Oh well, I won’t complain, I will just be to *DEAD* LAMN wins of all the songs he has been nominated for! A r&b singer winning for Best Rap song would be too funny! Lol!

I’m huge fan of Beyoncé, but I have to say “4” era is a nightmare! Flop singles. Flop album. Flop Grammy’s nomination. Now I know how it feels to be a stan of a basic b****. I know how it’s to be a Ciara, Keri Hilson, Kelly Rowland’s stan.
I really want Mathew Knowles back! Beyoncé can’t promote herself properly . Actually, she’s destroying her career.
R&B is f****** dead. It didn’t get any nomination on the major categories. Marsha Ambrosius released the best R&B album of the year – better than 4 -, but she was completly snubbed.

I’m upset because of Beyoncé herself. “4” is a special album for her. She has stated it many times. I know she took some risks, but the overall reception for her work was bad. Radios didn’t like it, record buyers didn’t like it, Grammy didn’t like it, I didn’t like it. I have to be honest here, I have bought “4” just because I’m huge fan of hers and “End Of Time”. “4” is a good album, but it lacks on something. It’s my least favorite album (including DC’s). I couldn’t care less about sales, airplay, etc. I just feel bad for her.
But it’s a fact “End Of Time” >>>>> the whole Grammy’s nomination.

GEt over it, BEY-sides. GRAMMYS thave spoken and set the record straight. 4lop is not crittically acclaimed. You BeYAWNce stans first said she was gonna come and snatch everybody’s wigs. THEN “Run the World” was gonna debut at #1 then 4lop was gonna sell 2 million by the end of the year and ‘show how other artists how to sell albums.’ then she was gonna get nominated for all the major Grammy categories because the album is SUCH an amazing and critically loved album.
4closure is OFFICIALLY the biggest flop of the year. No one has had more promo, more TV spots, commercials, magazine covers, interviews, specials, publicized performances, videos released. Yet it backfired because PAPA KNOWLES wasn’t buying those Grammy bids for BIONCI. This year is the most eye-opening for the public. All the scandals about stealing people’s choreography and visuals and using her pregnancy to distract from her album THEN BE EXCUSE FOR WHY IT BOMBED. puleaze.
The Grammys have spoken. BeYAWNce was shut out for 2 reasons: her DADDY didn’t buy votes and the committee isn’t falling for BeYAWNce’s smoke and mirrors this year.
And i just LOVE LOVE how suddenly the Grammys don’t matter. Now they don’t mean anything. When BeYAWNce doesn’t get nominations in every category for 5 different songs the Grammys are whack. PATHETIC.

I am surprised and disappointed that ‘4’ didn’t get a best R&B album nomination but of course Beyonce can’t dominate the Grammys every year. Although some are silly enough to think that Matthew pays for nominations or awards, if that were the case she would have won more Grammy’s for B’day or an album of the year award by now. Also, she didn’t win an award in the general/major categories until her third album (Song of the Year for Single Ladies) and never won in the Pop category until Halo won for Best Pop vocal Performance. So the ‘Mathew buys Grammys theory’ is ridiculous. I think ‘Party’ has been the strongest single released from ‘4’ thus far so I’m not surpised it garnered a nomination. Like I said, maybe more nominations will come for ‘4’ after she releases more singles. I still think there is more to come in the ‘4’ era because there are still enough potential hit singles to carry the album well into 2012, especially after the deluxe version is released to I-tunes and post-pregnancy promo kicks in. We’ll see, still a great album either way.

it does make me chuckle when I think about how heated the YOUNG Beyoncé stans will be when they see the nominations and my comments.
For the young Beyoncé fans who really understand music, they have been extremely critical of her for years. & when Usher won an award over Maxwell & Alicia Keys won an award over Anita Baker, people who really understand music have been looking at the Grammy’s *side-eyed* for years!
These same people have NEVER liked Beyoncé. She’s always been read as being “over-rated & a second rate talent.” I LOVE Beyoncé but I have always been read as suspect b/c Beyoncé is understood as being a “generic” artist in this world, yet I defended her.
So, again, I ask you. What are the Grammy’s? Do they ultimately solidify talent or are we talking about something else? Could this ultimately have to do with popularity with a few screws thrown in?

Please! There aren’t no single proof that Mathew Knowles bought Beyoncé’s Grammys. It isn’t the first time Grammy snubs a major singer, it happened to Kanye, Alicia Keys, Beyonce, U2, Mary J, and many others. Even Rihanna was snubbed once. “Rated R” is her best work to date, it’s way better than “Loud” and “TTT”, but it didn’t ge any nomination.

Not sure why the stan wars. If you look at it, everybody got robbed except for Adele and Kanye. The Grammys slashed so many categories that many artists got shut out. There used to be male/female categories. With the combining of them, that caused a tight field. So someone like Riri probably could have gotten more noms. Or Taylor, Gaga, Katy or Bey. Personally, the noms are all over the place. It’s not making sense. Record of the year minus Adele and Bruno Mars is atrocious. I actually would bring back male/female performance. I think Super Bass and F**** Perfect should have been up for record of the year. I’d switch Firework with E.T. On the Floor outsold mostly all songs this year. That should have had one nom at least for dance record. I actually think Pink Friday or Taylor Swift’s Speak should have received more nods. No Jill Scott??? I don’t think people should get upset about Bey, Gaga, Taylor or Britney or Katy not receiving a lot or no nods. I think the Grammys want to try to appeal to a newer crowd by awarding new blood. Though surprised I’ve yet to see Taylor, Gaga and Britney stans in the post lol. I’m sure they’re just as upset over their lack of nods. Same with Chris Breezy, who should have gotten more also. Grammys are a mess. And Adele and Kanye are going to win them all anyway. I was just happy Foo Fighters got nods and Marsha Ambrosius.

What you dummies fail to realize is Beyonce has made extremely impossible for any female to break her record due to the removal of almost all of the categories she won in (Best contemporary r&b album, best female r&b performance, etc.) The Grammys are shot and shady. The categories are all f***** up.smh

okay I’m gna try to do something that rarely gets done on a post talking about rihanna and beyonce and that’s inject some common sense LOL Beyonces 4 era has been her weakest era ever since destinys child and there’s no denying it .. However there were many factors .. First off this the first time bey has managed herself and in her 4 documentary she said I’ve made a lot of mistakes as a manager and I’m learning as I go and get my team together so beyonce is in a transition behind the scenes not to mention she decided to change her style from what ppl expect from her and she’s been pregnant virtually this entire era ..I know the haters take a weird pleasure in seeing her struggle but I actually think beyonce isn’t in any lower of a position she was in 2008 .. She was going on 200 like usually simply because she couldn’t professionally because of her changing teams and figuring it out and personally being pregnant ..Rihanna is currently having her moment .. She’s gna get the number one singles (u couldn’t have told me two weeks ago talk that talk wouldn’t be number one but oo well), the accolades, the endorsements and she’s shining right now and her stans should be xcited .. But navy just be smart about what you say .. Because criticing beyonce having a 5 month bump (a bump that still produced a number one album and two grammy nods) in a 16 year road just sounds incredibly dumb …..especially when 3 (maybe 4 the jury is still out on talk that talk) out 6 rihanna albums hav flopped its almost a sick joke u guys even mention beyonce

you know what i think billboard should do.
they should take the first year sales from every album then compare them to albums released that same year, and then give them a number. that would sound more fair because then the album is actually competing with every album released that year and not just albums released in the same week. especially since out of all the albums released last year 2010 Loud has sold the most.

Actually, all award shows use hot artists to draw people to watch the show. They know if they don’t nominate people like Rihanna, Britney, Katy, Beyonce, most people won’t watch it. Honestly IASF didn’t deserve a nomination for AOTY, and neither do Loud, Teenage Dream, BTW. They’re just using them for more audience. It’s a fact. We all know neither Loud nor BTW will win AOTY.
Do you remember when Taylor Swift won Best Female Video over Single Ladies? Everyone knew SL was the video of the year. Kanye West said what everyone wanted to say. Historically, MTV never cared about country artists before, but Taylor had the best selling album of that year so they nominated hoping the people, who bought her album, watch the show. See how they completly ignored her on the last VMA.
That’s how awards shows work.

Rihanna’s stans have been trying so hard to prove that Rihanna is bigger than Beyoncé that they forget Beyoncé has two successful careers, as a solo artist and as a group. See the difference?
When Rihanna was learning the ABC, Beyoncé was getting a PhD degree. Rihanna’s stans should focus these stan wars to Katy Perry’s stans, because she’s getting the Queen of Hot 100 throne. She’s the real threat for ya.

It’s so funny how biased some people can be.
Yesterday, all Rihanna’s stan didn’t give a f*** about Grammy. And now they’re acting like she’s Beyoncé and she won 6 awards on a single night. But they just forget that there is a difference between nomination and to be a winner. I can’t.
They’re all feeling their p****** because Loud success. They’re acting like it’s the new “Thriller”. But they forget how badly Rated R and the other pre-GGGB albums performed and she still doesn’t have a #1 albums. I can’t.
They were excited that she (almost) sold out London’s concerts. They were acting like it was the new “Sticky & Sweet Tour”. But they forget that Rihanna sold a major quantity of its tickets for $15 on Groupon. I can’t.
They were so happy that Only Girl, What’s My Name and S&M hit the #1 spot. They were acting like she was a threat to Katy Perry. But they forget that Def Jam needed to use many tricks such as reducing the price of the singles, calling Britney Spears for a remix, etc.

Wow! That was real humble for a Bey stan! I agree to a certain extent, personally I feel like ‘4’ was her best album since ‘Dangerously in Love’ as far as lyrcal content, vocals and over all concept but as far as singles, promo and sales, she definitely was lacking this time around. I think managment played a part, it does seem like every since she fired her Dad & hired Joe Camel things went down hill for her but I mainly believe it was because of the state of music right now. She didn’t release anything commercial that appealed to the masses! She didn’t jump on the bandwagon and release some techno dance pop s*** that is trendy right now. She released music with substance that appealed to her urban market and it just didn’t catch on. *shrugs*
As for Marsha Ambrious I also agree. Her album was dope and true r&b but look what they did to the r&b categories this year! They took so many away that they made it damn near impossible for artist who aren’t mainstream to get any shine. Just look at Miguel! I feel for him! R&b isn’t dead, there are PLENTY of r&b artist making true r&b music, but they just aren’t being supported by the the buying public or radio. So with the exception of a few, they get overlooked by the Grammys.
R&b artist are screwed! Chris was dominating r&b this year but he only got one r&b nomination for his album (which I am not complaining about AT ALL) and the other two were for a rap song, and he ain’t even a rapper! SMH! Chris was lucky FAME is the best selling male r&b album this year, or he could have gotten over looked too.
As for Bey, she’ll be fine. Just like A Keys was snubbed last year, it comes a time when every big name artist gets a surprise snub but its all good cause just like A Keys, Bey already has proved herself and has more Grammys than all of the people nomianted. She’s good!

OMG there are two clear headlines here:
– I was good with the nominations, really I was really liking it until I saw “Loud” for album of the year LOLOLOL What a joke, well it doesn´t matter cos she won´t win but really that´s f***** up
– WOW Beyonce, she finally got ignored by the grammys. FINALLY. Don´t get me wrong, “4” is her best album to date, but she really has too many grammys, she doesn´t deserve so many so I think it´s ok if she doesn´t win anymore. Also this goes to show all the grammys she usually won come cos of how many nominations in the R&B department they had, too many with little competition. Now she really has to fight and this is what happens.
Finally I want to say seeing the nominations Adele deserves to win big way without a doubt, and then Lady Gaga

I don’t know what the wars are about. Let’s be serious, the Grammys are predictable. Only two people will win: Adele and Kanye. Everyone else is a moot point. It’s the same every year.
1) Adele will deservedly win and honored for a great cd, her talent. Then as many others such as Bonnie Raitt, Lauryn Hill and Norah Jones, she will disappear from the face of the earth because fickle people will complain about her.
2) Rihanna deserved nods because she has been unfairly thrown under the bus with award shows this year. Although, most of the nods are with Kanye. So she’s still under the bus and not to knock, will be come Grammy time. She’s being teated how Madonna was in the 80s, where despite hits it took a decade with Ray of Light before full recognition. I like Riri, but being realistic.
3) Bey fans shouldn’t worry. After she gives birth this month, history will repeat itself such as with Whitney, Britney and Madonna. She’ll do as Star is Born, come back with a better cd to prove she’s in the game and people will fall in love with her again. See the Bodyguard, Ray of Light and pretty much any Brit cd after she had her kids. Plus she got 2 noms so she really didn’t get shut out. Some people didn’t get any or just one.
4) I would have given more nods to Pink, Maroon 5 and Christina’s Move Like Jagger, at least one for Britney and On the Floor, and brought back the separate male/female categories. The noms are messy.

The only way things can come around if she releases more singles next year. Truth is noone really gets to shine 2 yrs in a row. Grammys snubbed bday too, even Taylor got snubbed this year a lil despite the acclaim n commercial success of her lp. They dont want it to look like they playing favouritism. so beyonce can’t actually be nominated next year for album of the year or anything concerning albums, but she can still be nominated for any of the songs if they are released as singles from now until september.

This is a happy day when Beyawnce was slayed by Lady Gaga & Rihanna, hahahahahahahahaha. They say 4 is a masterpiece, but snubbed, LOL, getting a nomination only on a collaboration track & a long form video, which basically is nothing, LOL.
Them Beyawnce stans crapping all about 16 wins, where majority of those wins were just in those niche categories like R&B, and not really on the major categories. I’m not even going into the buying grammy crap, which could be true – buy your numbers via those niche categories. Meaning, the Grammys look at her as only an R&B artist, not really an artist that can best artists on other genres.
But 2012 Grammys will be Adele’s year – a true artist who doesn’t have to steal writing credits to have hits or win Grammys, LOL.

I wish people stop shading Rihanna, She is a beautiful black women doing her thing and we should try to support her. Her music may not be the “best” but the majority of the artist out in pop aren’t that amazing either. As for Beyonce’s snub its kinda makes since, Beyonce is in the stages of redefining her whole music career. She is taking risk and experimenting and i love it. 4 really does not fit in much of the mainstream music of today and thats why its suffering Grammy politics, its not really pop but its not really RnB and not even between its just BEYONCE (lol). What i would like to question is how Adele is getting so much Pop nods when she is not really Pop to me, i really love her love her sound but comparing her to Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy seems so weird to me. In this respect i feel people like Britney were snubbed because she is the definition of mordern Pop. As well as Bruno mars whose album is called, “Doo Wop and Holigans,” shouldnt that be towards more Soul and R&B. The politics of the music are very sketchy to me and overall… Like how the hell did neither Jill Scott or Marsha Ambrosious get nominated for RnB album of the year! I just hope this doesn’t discourage Beyonce to keep pushing the boundaries of her music!

As she posted the nom list!! The epic meltdown after meltdown AFTER MELTDOWN from the hive!! Man it was just one of the best nights in stan history and I am truly thankful!!! I THOROUGHLY lived!!! So much so that I just can’t even with the Bey stans still up in here trying to type all these novels!! I mean get it together hive!! All that happened last night was that the Grammy’s took a sledgehammer to your faves {QUOTEMARK} most accomplished {QUOTEMARK} work then blow torched the remaining scattered particles!! The Grammys didn’t see it for Bey because she sent them AND the pubic NyQuil music which just wasn’t good enough for a supposed icon!! The era was a MAJOR disaster, move the f*** on and hope that in 2 years when she comes back at THIRTY TWO she can release music once more geared to the masses!!!

I’m the only one here who watch the Grammy’s for the performances no for the Awards, i mean the nominations are a joke, Adele deserve more than 16 Grammys if we are talking about talent, Gaga and Adele would be the Stars that night, how can you have respect for a show who don’t nominate The Princess of Pop when she release an album this year, and J.Lo has her biggest Single ever, and don’t tell me this is about talent, because that is b*******, many singers have enough Grammys at home to make an Anthology Collection, well this happened before the Diva Diana Ross has no Grammys.

I’m sad seeing these nominees.Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne should be blacklisted, not nominated, for God’s sake.Wiz Khalifa having a chance of winning a damn Grammy??And MAJOR side-eye to the entire album of the year category.These awards used to actually mean something 🙁 SMH…
Oh well, at least a few worthy artist still got some shine and of course Christina got a couple of nods (she also got one for ‘Burlesque’, I think).I’ll only be watching for the performances…

If you read how they picked the nominees for best R & B album it stated for an album which had over 51% radio play and other factors. CB is a baby in all the R & B fields, everyone nominated is a older veteran. I don’t like the way they did away with all the R &B fields, now the younger artists has to compete with the older artist. In my city they have two different urban station, one for hip hop and mainstream R & B- CB, Trey songz and the other for Jill Scott, R Kelly for the older urban adults. I don’t think its fair to combine both type of artists. CB, Trey albums sold way more than the older artist, but do they change their style to win a grammy with the older artist. How can you compare who has a great album, with the younger artist who appeals to young people and the older artist who appeals to older people. R Kelly appealed to the younger people in the 90’s and he had s** songs and quality songs also on his album and won plenty of grammys, but now they are combining that award. not fair.

omg yeah I forgot about Jill Scott. Yeah her case is unfair. Like I said Beyonce not having… well she has enough. But apart from that and the Loud thing, I´m happy with the nominees. We knew some people were going to be forgotten cos of the reduction of nominations, like it happened in the 90´s. Beyonce was lucky enough to belong to this 00´s generation, till now 🙂

How the hell can beyonce’s album be nominated and it was only out for 5 months now come on,now riri fans dont forget Rated Flop didnt get any nominations either but i bet you in 2013 4 will be nominated for sure, and 4 isnt a flop to me cause if a album with no number one or top ten hits can sell 2 million in 5 months that good, Loud has 3 and yet still suck at what 6 million

Not throwing shade I like Rihanna, but I think you Rihanna Stans will look for any oppurtunity to down someone just because ppl dont feel the same way you do about Rihanna.
