Days ago, we reported the shocking news that ‘Born This Way’ maestra LadyGaGa had fired her long time creative director LaurieAnn Gibson after an alleged dispute over the choreographer’s attitude to the performer’s creative direction and her fan base.
Now the famed dancer has spoken out on what she says really happened.
Without further delay, read her statement below:
I am fulfilled with the work I have done with choreographing all of the iconic moves, creative directing the artist, appearances, shows, directing the tour, music videos, and the HBO Monster Ball, which was a culmination of my work as its creator and director.
Recently, Lady Gaga was motivated to take the helm of the creative direction of her career and as such I decided to step away.
I am extremely proud of her, and in stepping away I wish her all the best. I look forward to continuing my work with notable artists, as well as new artists that are part of my Interscope Records deal, and the upcoming seasons of my TV shows.
While we here at That Grape Juice HQ have always been in support of Ms.Gibson, we’d be lying if we said we believed a word of what she is saying.
For, it makes little sense that two people who have worked so well together for so long would suddenly decided to call it quits, and even less believable that LaurieAnn would ‘step away’ when everyone knows that her gig with GaGa was the best thing to happen to her flourishing career.
Regardless, with or without Germanotta- Gibson will remain one of the greatest minds to grace Pop visuals and we only hope she has something in store that will silence any who doubt the impact she has made on the careers of artists who quite frankly- couldn’t have done without her.
