It seems all that hand waving has made rapper Drake dizzy. For, the Young Money star has deemed frequent collaborators Rihanna and Nicki Minaj “the most iconic women in music today”.
Details after the jump…
The controversial comments came during an interview with Google Music. Check it out here:
Given both Rihanna and Ms. Minaj feature on Drizzy’s sophomore set ‘Take Care’, we can’t but hope his words were simply a means of promoting his own project. Because, it’d be all sorts of disturbing if he – as a credible artist himself – truly believed the toxic waste coming out of his mouth.
The last we checked iconic status doesn’t equal having 11 #1’s that no one can remember off-head. Iconic status doesn’t equal one solid album and a pink wig. No.
Iconic, when looking at those who rightly enjoy such status, is about longevity. It’s about music, image, and practices which stand the test of time. Something the careers of RiRi, Minaj, and Drake himself have plenty to do before achieving.
