It’s the figure you’ve all been waiting for.
The US first week sales of Rihanna‘s ‘Talk That Talk‘ are finally here!
Without further delay, find out what she sold below…
Chart position:#3
‘To be what you is/You’ve got to be what you are/ Only thing I’m missing is a black guitar #1 album‘
Another failed attempt to reach #1 eh?
Interesting ,because the success of all the singles she has released this year should have given the public an incentive to purchase ‘Talk‘, if not boost sales of ‘Loud‘.
Elsewhere, and quite unfortunately, Mary J. Blige’s ‘My Life II: The Journey Continues‘ debuts in at #5 with 164,700 copies.
Meanwhile Drake‘s ‘Take Care‘ continued to make impressive moves with 173,618 moved after debuting with sales of 631,000 units last week.
Adele‘s ‘21‘ comes in at #7 with 138,465 units moved while Michael Jackson‘s ‘Immortal’ sold a less than impressive 45,214 copies in its first week of release.
Back to Ms. Fenty:
Usually- this would be the part where we’d slip in a line about her Gabby Goat style vocals and those ‘Night Of The Living Dead‘ dance moves she sports with pride.
However, there really is nothing funny about this sales figure.
Because, if Nicki Minaj can move almost 400,000 units in a week with a debut album without the aid of one hit song on the Hot 100,it’s unfortunate that Rihanna struggles to sell half of that even with the benefit of all the #1 singles she has racked up this year.
