Charli Baltimore: “Lil Kim Doesn’t Write Her Own Songs”

Published: Saturday 21st Jan 2012 by David

Quite unfortunately, reports of ghostwriting within Female Rap seem to be showing no signs of dying down.

Indeed, despite the critical acclaim awarded to the likes of ‘Left Eye’, Nicki Minaj and Missy Elliott for penning their own music, many Femcees  have come under fire for using  ‘ghostwriters‘ to discreetly create their look and  sound for them.

Now peep Charli Baltimore explain why Kim’s so called lack of creativity made life difficult for many a 90s Rapstress, below…

Though Kim’s inability to write her own music does go some way to ‘cheapen’ her cause, it really doesn’t take away from the impact she made on Rap ( and Pop music to an extent) back when she was relevant.

In saying that, comments like these are a reminder that for all her achievements, Jones is in fact a walking talking puppet for any man she trusts enough to take control of her career.

In the 90s it was Biggie, today it is the so-called ‘International Rock Stars‘ and back in 2007 she was hoping it would be Baby and Slim.

It also doesn’t help that the clips below continue to do the rounds on YouTube:

So what do you think?

Should Kim respond to Charli’s claims?
