Quite unfortunately, reports of ghostwriting within Female Rap seem to be showing no signs of dying down.
Indeed, despite the critical acclaim awarded to the likes of ‘Left Eye’, Nicki Minaj and Missy Elliott for penning their own music, many Femcees have come under fire for using ‘ghostwriters‘ to discreetly create their look and sound for them.
None more so than Rap icon Lil Kim.

Though Kim’s inability to write her own music does go some way to ‘cheapen’ her cause, it really doesn’t take away from the impact she made on Rap ( and Pop music to an extent) back when she was relevant.
In saying that, comments like these are a reminder that for all her achievements, Jones is in fact a walking talking puppet for any man she trusts enough to take control of her career.
In the 90s it was Biggie,today it is the so-called ‘International Rock Stars‘ and back in 2007 she was hoping it would be Baby and Slim.
