It’s been a long time coming, but Mariah Carey‘s new album is well on its way.
With confirmed production from DJ Clue and Randy Jackson, today saw Camp Mimi release footage from a recent studio session with Jermaine Dupri, reportedly shot some weeks ago.
Watch below…
If we weren’t excited about the project before, we definitely are now.
Because, if Dupri serves Mariah tracks even half as good as work on the ‘Emancipation‘, we are all in for a treat.
Let’s just hope Jermaine doesn’t fall into old habits and create music that is more trendsetting than fashion following. For it wasn’t too long ago that he made a mockery of Janet’s career with ‘This Body’ and the like.
At last, the SONGBIRD SUPREME!
@Frachella be patient Mariah has more important things to look after at the moment than her career namely in her husband and young children and technically she’s been recording on and Off since the last trimester of her pregnancy with the twins. she’ll come back when she’s good and ready
Why is she doing this???? I see a big FLOP in the making!!
i looooooooove me some Mariah. But this whole “lounging about the studio” s*** needs to stop. You go to the studio to WORK, not set up shop and lounge about and drink and see what happens. It’s kinda irritating because there was obviously a difference the 10 days of WORK in ATL her and JD worked together for “The Emancipation of Mimi” and the on-again-off again studio time she’s put in for the past year. Mariah needs more structure because the s*** shes been coming up with has been all over the place. Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel main example… sloppy sloppy and MESSY
They come up with 5 songs since the start of their sessions last Thursday and by the way Jermaine left Mimi in the studio some of the time by herself while he attended to club gigs. We need to stop making assumptions about things we have no knowledge of. This was a video of them still in the studio at 7 am from the previous night. Facts on facts!!!
@jer she is drinking tea with honey as she ALWAYS does in the studio
i happen to think Memoirs was a masterpiece, easily her most daring & experimental work outside her remixes, which have always been cutting-edge.
We need more of this, not less, and im afraid working with JD and the rest of the “old gang” might be a step in the wrong direction…
As an artist, Mariah must move FORWARD !
whatever the results, im LOVING the exciting new directions Mariah will take us…..:)))
