Report: Mariah Carey Plots May Stage Return

Published: Wednesday 25th Jan 2012 by Sam

After an 18 month absence from the stage, Mariah Carey is to making a grand return to the live circuit this May. And, in news that will excite her legion of Lambs, the diva is reportedly bringing new material with her.

Full story below…

The ‘Make It Happen’ singer has been tapped to headline the 11th Annual Mawazine Festival in Morocco on May 26th; with the event organizers confirming that the singer will be performing new songs.

Ever since her ‘Memoirs’ bombed in 2009, many a debate has raged as to what direction the songbird should embrace next. And while we’re still many months off, we can’t but salivate at the prospect of new Mimi material. Especially in light of the wonders pregnancy worked on her vocals. Roll on May!

    Who cares?

Memoirs sucked ass, music with no … substance.

BUT…If she can deliver me something along the lines of “E=MC2”, I’m good.

@JJFan1814 Memoirs didn’t suck it came from a really difficult chapter in Mariah’s life after she miscarried her and Nick’s first child so her heart wasn’t in it and also traumatic events like that effect your voice negatively plus she’s had nodules on her vocal chords since childhood so that effects how she sings and so does age. but now considering she’s got her beautiful babies and her husband is on the road to controlling his kidney issues she’s in one of the happiest places she’s ever been in her life and she’s actually been writting new material since the late stages of her pregnancy with the twins last winter/spring and recording intermittantly since including a song specifically dedicated to Roc n Roe and if that’s Along the lines of Marc Anthony’s My Baby You for his daughter Arianna or Stevie Wonders Isn’t She Lovely for his daughter Aisha then I’ll be more than happy

She sucks. The mawazine festival isnt just one performer so dont think they are there for Mariah. She barely sold her 2009 tour for MOAIA. I heard many concert halls were only 2/3rds full, lmao!! In one concert in texas (dallas I believe) they said the first 3 rows left when Mariah couldnt sing and just lipped, LMAO!!

  13. TIMMI January 25, 2012

    Woo go head QUEEN!

Mariah is back and ready to slay, I can’t WAIT for the new music!

  14. RATEDXXX(YOU MAD BECAUSE??) January 25, 2012

yes, the real diva is coming back…..her voice..damn..Mimi and Brandy..CANNOT WAIT…

cant wait to hear what she has in store for us…..

as a fan of hers for so long, i can admit i was very disappointed in her last 2 albums…

she was trying to compete with the fake ass singers out there…

and as a legend..I felt she didNT need to compete….nobody can touch her..

I cannot wait for My MIMI

No one wants to see this hasbeen lipsynch her way through a show. Her voice is tired and she is now a studio singer. Memoirs flopped because the album was garbage.

Morocco? That is the sign of a hasbeen. Why not NYC? Give it up Mime-Mi, take care of dem babies and work on your REAL voice first

Some people don’t get it. Memoirs didn’t bomb. When you compare it to the commercial success of “Daydream” or “Emancipation,” I guess it was disappointing. But when you think about what she was going through at that time, she was in no place to e in the spot light. She needed a break and she did it. Many Lambs remember that she wasn’t promoting it as hard as she normally did. That album is one of my favorites cause it’s so autobiographical and so deep for true fans. Song like “Inseperable” just take my breathe away. Hopefully she takes it to the next level with her new album and scores a #1. It would be cool if her and Rihanna did something together that hit number one. Kind of a passing of the #1 torch—if that ever is the case.

That´s why we all saw how she was singing live at Singapur festival when she fell and while pregnant and we also saw beyonce falling down the stairs and the voice kept on coming??? haha You are pressed

Another pressed one. Why everytime you do a Mariah post you have to shade her? In fact you do it with everybody except for Beyonce. Not a serious look man

  18. Que_Baby89 January 25, 2012

Mariah bout to show all her haters how its done once again!

  19. Matty January 25, 2012

Can not Wait for new music!!!
Mariah is solid and consistent in her music. It’s always quality, regardless of if it’s ur flava or not, this women’s voice is an instrument from another world! Go MC, kill’em.

  20. THE GREAT LACEFRONCE RETURNS. January 25, 2012

Such a great point. Memories was not a flop in industry terms, it was still a money maker. It’s when people are expecting the unbelievable heights of Music Box, Day Dream, Butterfly and Emancipation that people start labelling it as a ‘flop’; just goes to prove Mariah’s put herself in a category all of her own (which really seems to p*** people off, for some reason). Reminder, Madonna hasn’t had a number one song since ’01. Yet when Mariah’s album sells “only” 1 million, and she gets “only” one top ten hit, it’s labelled a flop.

Numbers don’t lie. Her talent don’t lie. You can’t go after Mariah and her success, so i think that’s why people attack her personally so much … When someone’s as powerful as Mariah, what can you go after … Her weight ??? I guess for those losers who judge substance&talent based on the number on a scale.

Round of Applause!! Mimi make that ass clap!

  23. Theman January 25, 2012

    She’s amazing. She’s the best…….

Most probably won’t read this, but SAM,if you’re listening,
1.While “Memoirs” didn’t break records, wouldn’t you admit it was good work from Ms. Carey-Cannon? Correct me if I’m wrong, but lately, you’ve been dissing the record anytime it’s mentioned. If I can give my two pence, it was a great arrangement of songs, I felt it was whole and complete. Was each song a guaranteed #1? No. Were most of the tracks pretty damn good? I think so…
    2. I share your excitement about new stuff! Bring it, Mimi! Thanks,Sam

  25. jjjj January 26, 2012

    She looks old!

  26. kindly f*** you,gpod sir January 26, 2012

    Another flop.

Mariah isn’t a great vocalist anymore.
    Memoirs was a flop.
I look you did better with no hit.
Mariah and Whitney voices are shot

As soon as we get over that we’ll be good.

  27. D-LOC January 26, 2012

wasnt Mariah busy promoting Precious while trying to promte Memoirs as well?
Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel was a top ten hit as was the platnum single Obsessed…
ARTISTICALLY IT WAS A TRIUMPH, everyone who purchased & listened to it agrees
it was a BRILLIANT record, and if it had anybody elses name on it other than MARIAH CAREY it would have won a ton of grammys, IT WAS PACKED WITH GREAT SONGS!!

  28. D-LOC January 26, 2012

    Most weeks at #1 EVER!!!
    over half a year!!!!
so that album cant be called a bomb, only by haters or ignorant people
Mariah comin’ up with new music? NATURALLY…..
    CANT WAIT!!!
    and you know it’ll be good…… !

  29. Delusion January 26, 2012

Some people are saying we get over legends like Mariah & Madonna. Replace them with what? With today’s stars with mediocre talent & all hype? I pity these kids who grew up listening to garbage, thinking their faves are the best.
