As two of modern music’s biggest acts, Rihanna and Beyonce naturally find themselves compared. Add their race, gender, and genre’s into the fray, and the pair emerge as direct competition. At least, from the standpoint of their fiercely loyal fanbases.
And while it’s oft their fanbases who address the matter, Rihanna herself has given her two cents.
Find out what the she had to say below…
In a recent interview with Look magazine, the model said:
“There’s nobody really in my league,” when probed on who she sees herself in competition with.
“But there’s competition everywhere. The whole music industry is competition. There are people who like other artists, those who like me and others who like both.
Beyonce is a great artist and I feel honoured to be mentioned in the same sentence, but we’re different performers with different styles.”
In citing her main point of inspiration, Fenty added:
“Madonna. She reinvented her style and music with success every single time, and at the same time remained a real force. She’s fantastic.”

It’s funny how manufactured success will have an act such as McFenty believing her hype. Like, really though, what is her “league”? What is her “performance style”?
The sooner she realises she lucked-out, and avoid answering questions like this, the better. Because she looks hella-silly projecting “done-did-it” vibes, when she can’t even scan 200k albums 1st week.
