The loss of Whitney Houston last month is one the music world is healing from slowly, yet surely. However, “regrouping” is a process that’s proving difficult for the late superstar’s family.
Nonetheless, the Houston clan have allowed Oprah Winfrey to interview them about how they’re coping after the singer’s sudden death.
Set to air on the mogul’s OWN network this Sunday, another preview of the emotionally charged chat on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’ has been released.
The clip features the songbird’s sister-in-law and closest friend, Patricia Houston, relay her fears for the singer in her final days.
Video awaits below…
Needless to say, we’ll be watching.
Is it too soon? I’d say so. Indeed, that and O’s uncanny ability to “swoop in” under such circumstances (shudders at memory of her having tea with the Jacksons after making more than a few unsavory comments about Michael in his latter days), brings about a certain unease in me
However, any true journalist knows to dig for the answers the world wants. And with Whitney’s career touching so many, naturally there’s heightened interest in how the family are doing. I just wish the interview wasn’t on the back of less than stellar ratings for a network that was almost certainly destined to fly (and hasn’t…yet). More than anything, I’d have preferred the interview was with Whitney herself, plugging a new project, new film, new something. Sigh.
