New Alicia Keys music is on the way!
Is the pianist going to make another classic Motown-inspired R&B album reminiscent of her debut or is Keys planning to rehash ‘Element of Boredom Freedom’‘s listlessness into another idle LP?
See what record producer and Keys’ husband Swizz Beatz promises to expect from his wife’s upcoming collection after the jump and sound-off below.
“She’s working on a timeless piece,” Swizz told Angie Martinez of New York City’s Hot 97. “The topics that she’s speaking about are super deep and from the heart, and to me what music has been missing.” Swizz also confirmed the 31 year old will be hitting the studio with longtime collaborator and former alleged beau, Kerry “Krucial” Brothers.
Exciting news!
Hopefully this translates into more ‘Fallen’, ‘Diary’, and/or ‘Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)’ type tracks from the soulful diva and less of the ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ schmaltz that dominated the last era. Either way, Keys is a premium R&B artist that has earned the right to take her music wherever she’d like–anything she releases ‘TGJ’ will be anxiously looking forward to, as a talent like hers is rare to come by.
