Branded the ‘male Fantasia’ for his throaty growls, spirited melisma, and “church” stylings, the young vocalist was a shoo-in to win. Now, Ledet’s dismissal (after a whopping 90 million votes) leaves powerhouse teen Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips to duke it out for the ultimate prize in next week’s finale.
