Last night, The Voice UK said goodbye to Ruth Ann St Luce, the 18 year old act hoping to win the £100,000 contract with Universal Republic.
Mentored by ‘Do It Like A Dude’ belle Jessie J, Ruth’s time on the show came to an end following a shaky performance on Saturday night, picked up by all four of the show’s coaches.
Now, according to The Daily Mail, she has blamed the show’s editing for her departure.

According to ‘The Mail’, Ruth told ‘TS’:
In my blind audition and the battle round the last comments people saw of me were negative, but the judges had said positive things.
I thought that was really unfair and didn’t make any sense. It’s unprofessional.’
‘They didn’t show my full performances or my comments — everyone else had their comments shown.
Last week he said a lot of people were pitchy but then he said it doesn’t matter.But with me, he made it a big thing. The public love the judges and they’re going to go by what the judges say.
The report also claims she suggested votes had been fixed, with some of her friends being unable to vote for her once the phone lines opened.
What a mess.
Whether the editing or votes were ‘fixed’ against her or not, there’s no denying the following:
Ruth did not deserve to stay.
Yes, as harsh as that may sound, we feel Ruth- like most aspiring singers- has a bad case of the delusions, looking to blame everything but herself for her own shortcomings.
For, putting the judges’ comments to one side, her performance on Saturday night wasn’t about it- ruining a straight forward Pop number with gratuitous riffs. Riffs so prevalent the number was at times hard to recognize.
This, as talented she is, is the reason she deserved to leave regardless of how editing spun the situation.
However, if she was misrepresented, here’s hoping she gets the chance to develop the skill we didn’t get to see on the show,in the future.
