Whichever way you look at it, ROC boss Jay Z has no choice but to smile this week.
Yes, despite the embarrassing nature of Rihanna‘s ‘Hackney Weekend’ set last Sunday, the last few days have seen his of his most popular acts (Rita Ora and the aforementioned Rihanna) generate impressive numbers on the Billboard Hot 100.
Details below…
Following her set on ‘Good Morning America’, Ora fans will be pleased to know her single ‘How We Do’ rises by six spots this week, perched modestly at #62.
This, while seemingly low at face value, makes the belter one of the only British acts in US chart history to debut within the Top 100 with a lead single, likely to have been brought on by her rising popularity on the blogosphere.
Now five places above Rihanna‘s ‘Birthday Cake’, the single is now #4 on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Chart and #24 on the nation’s Pop Songs Chart, where Rihanna failed to chart this week.
However, we doubt she’ll lose any sleep over it. For, after 10 weeks on the chart her latest release ‘Where Have You Been’ enters the Top 5 at #5, three spots higher than its #8 position last week.
Fans can catch both ladies at this year’s ‘Wireless Fest‘, kicking off July 6th 2012.
