British soulstress Marsha Ambrosius is readying her faithful Marshians (pet name for fans) for the follow-up to her critically acclaimed solo debut ‘Late Nights and Early Mornings’. The Grammy nominated set, led by the buzzworthy ‘Far Away’ single, saw the former Floetry frontwoman gain a whole new set of fans. A feat only capitalized upon after joining fellow R&B crooner Miguel on a stateside tour.
Now the songbird is lifting the lid on her second, long-awaited offering. Find out what she’s dishing below:
Via Essence:
“It’s cooked. It’s a well prepared meal with gorgeous side dishes and snacks. With Late Nights and Early Mornings I was very precise in how I wanted it to be, but with this one, I don’t feel like I’m taking chances. I feel like I can be me now.”
“The first time around it was me showing and proving that I had a lane and an avenue to cover. But this album, I definitely had to live it to write it.”
“The sound and authenticity is still there. As far as a difference, you will be able to tell I experienced more this time. There is this expectancy there; I know who I’m talking to. I get to target the people I’ve met along the way.”
