Drake : “I’m The First Person To Succesfully Rap & Sing”

Published: Friday 27th Jul 2012 by David

As one of Pop’s more commercially viable acts, there’s no denying the impact Drake has made on Hip Hop and wider culture alike- at the forefront of the ever popular ‘College Rapper’ trend launched by Kanye West‘s ‘808 & Heartbreaks’.

Now, perhaps in realization of his popularity, he has made some very interesting remarks to The Jewish Chronicle.

Remarks, we’re sure will split opinion as Moses did the Red Sea.

Read below…

He explained:

There were people who incorporated melody before me but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing.

Yes, there are aspects of it that are new in the rap world. But it’s not a gimmick. I just sort of exist and people embrace it. I’m one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day.

It doesn’t take me six hours to get ready and I don’t have to wake up in the morning and remember to act like this or talk like this.
