Never one to shy away from controversy, Madonna‘s outspoken approach to many a social issue has at times worked both for her and against her.
For, while receiving praise for her visual commentary on interracial relationships in 1989’s ‘Like A Prayer’ , the same clip came under fire from the Vatican who labeled the clip ‘blasphemous’ for its unique take on religious symbolism.
This week, she has landed herself in hot water with the French political group the ‘National Front’, who have threatened to sue her for imagery showcased on her latest tour.
Details below…
The above snap, featured on the ‘Nobody Knows Me‘ segment of the icon’s MDNA tour, sees the ‘National Front’s leader Marine Le Pen branded with a swastika, a reference to her party’s allegedly racist political stance.
The party explained before confirming they were to take legal action against the star:
This is just another provocation in Madonna’s world tour so that people will talk about her.
We cannot accept such an odious comparison. Marine Le Pen will defend not only her own honour but her supporters and the millions of National Front voters.
Not sure why Madonna made the Nazi comparison, peep the clip below:
