As Pop’s fastest rising Rapper, Nicki Minaj‘s ascent on many a international chart has been astounding to say the very least.
Surpassing the 1 million copies sold worldwide mark with her latest LP ‘Roman Reloaded‘ this week, today has also seen the Rapper’s star rise on a UK front by way of her single ‘Starships‘ and both of her studio albums.
Nicki’s chart check below…
Rising one spot in the country’s Urban chart, ‘Starships’ now resides at #3 an impressive 24 weeks after its initial launch.
Meanwhile, her 5x Platinum single ‘Super Bass’ remains on the chart’s Top 100 in its 66th week, extending her lead as the only Female Rapper to enjoy a chart run as long as her own since- surpassing prior efforts made by Missy Elliott.
On an LP front, ‘Roman Reloaded‘ and 2010’s ‘Pink Friday’ both enjoy a sales bump, with ‘Reloaded’ climbing three spots to #24 and ‘Friday’ leaping two spots since last week- joining Rihanna and Adele as one of the only artist in this week’s tally to have two LPs in the Top 100.
However, in what is a testament to her Young Money’s inability to handle singles, her dance smash ‘Pound The Alarm‘ has fallen out of the Top Ten one week after entering it, despite its record breaking ascent on the tally last month.
An ascent, which saw it rise 118 spots in the space of two weeks.
Perhaps in response to the delay in the launch of its video, here’s hoping this week sees its long awaited release.
For, if delayed any further, Minaj may miss out on enjoying a UK #1 single for the third time in two years.
