R&B crooner Trey Songz has much to celebrate this week. On course to debut at #1 on home-soil with his latest album, ‘Chapter V’, the 27 year old making great strides in his International career too – as evidenced by his performance on the Official UK Album Chart this week.
Details after the jump…
According to this week’s tally, ‘Chapter V’ entered at the British count at #10; a feat which sees Songz earn his first top 10 album in the UK exactly one week after achieving his first top 10 UK single with ‘Simply Amazing’.
Prior to now, the singer’s biggest British success was with 2010’s ‘Passion, Pleasure & Pain’, which peaked at #22 on the Official UK R&B Album Chart.
*********
We’re not the easiest on Trey, a fact blamable on his horrible attitude and monotonous music, yet we must give credit where it’s due. You know, being the fair and unbias site we are.
Sadly, we’re in an era which isn’t interested in exploring the commercial potential embedded in R&B. Hence, Trey’s charting -regardless of the stand-out appeal (or lack-there-of) of his music – is commendable.
Echoing earlier sentiments, we just hope that being embraced by an International audience will help Trigga explore new takes on R&B in a bid to serve up a more compelling product with future releases.
Congrats gorgeous!! xoxo
That’s seriously great for him and rnb like RnB is deader in the UK than anywhere else
I ain’t even a fan but i’m happy 4 him.

Get it Trigga! …LOL
I’m not a big fan but I’m glad to see him having a measure of success outside of the Divided Sates! 🙂

HIS IRRELEVANCY IS BEYOND ME
This is great for the Diva.
B**** die
Congrats to Trey, he worked hard and it pays off.
I’m genuinely happy for him, he didn’t give up like Mario and countless other R’nB acts did in the past.
He has a genuine personality and is kinda likeable but I really don’t like his voice and music, its too obnoxious and in0your-face, and not in a good way, in a “I have something to proof” delusional way.
