“Roman Reloaded”: Nicki Minaj Enjoys Revised Metacritic Score

Published: Sunday 2nd Sep 2012 by David

Despite moving over 1 million copies worldwide since its April 3rd release, criticism of Nicki Minaj‘s latest LP ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ has been all too loud and clear.

However, in what will come as a slap in the face to of her detractors, this week saw the LP enjoy a revised Metacritic score after welcoming an influx of positive reviews.

Explanation below…

Metacritic grades each product by taking a numerical score from each review it receives and converts these scores into a percentage. This percentage is then used to grade the release and published for public viewing.

Upon release, ‘Reloaded’ received a score indicative of ‘mixed reviews’ but this week it enjoyed a revised score of 61- placing it ‘in the green’ with: “Generally favorable reviews”.

All this, as the project’s chances of enjoying a Top Ten position in the United World Chart’s Year End tally, and after becoming the highest charting Female Rapper in UK chart history.

With accolades like these under her belt, here’s hoping the coming months see Team Minaj push sales further with a better handling of her singles.

For, while her campaign has been flawless on a touring and album tip, we’d say she’d sell even more units if her singles were armed with better videos and stronger efforts to push them.

This, instead of releasing them and ‘hoping’ they pick up as was the case with ‘Pound The Alarm’ and the ‘Right By My Side‘, both of which her team failed to give the push they needed to ensure she secured  favorable spots in the Hot 100.

Either way, feats like these prove that Nicki’s title as ‘Rap’s Reigning Queen’ is by no means a matter of default, but rather down to the fact that she is the most impressive Femcee to arrive since Lauryn Hill and the ‘Triple Threat’  Missy Elliott.
