After listening to this a few times, we’d say this is a grower…. a serious grower.
For, while Nicki’s delivery hasn’t been this severe since verse 1 of ‘Roman Holiday’, its confused hook and the unnecessary presence of Cassie makes this one cut we hope gets the buzz treatment.
For as far as radio appeal goes, ‘The Boys’ is lacking and we’re not sure Minaj has opted to give this a push when the likes of ‘Pound The Alarm’ and ‘Whip It’ remain neglected.
In short, though we’ve grown to like, we’re not entirely here for it. A shame, as ‘The Re-Up’ is going to need a hit bigger than this if it’s to become Nicki’s third #1 album this November.

This is a natural song i like it,keep doing you nicki and what if the cassie part is old,it don’t matter to me as long as it is being release,alot of albums is out there with song that have bin recorded a couple years before,people acting like all songs on a new album is new….like i said tight track.
Her verses remind me of her mixtape days when she still went as hard as she did on features (unlike her current solo tracks in which she dishes out xxl portions of whack for 0.99 on iTunes). That can only be a good thing, but um where’s the chorus?! Is there a chorus?! Is it hip-hop? Is it pop? Is she going for something else? If so it’s not very well conceived.
On a more positive note, I don’t mind Cassie as much as most people. No, she isn’t particularly talented musically but her voice is sweet and pleasing to the ear in a way that suits certain melodies.
All in all, I don’t think of it as a grower, I see it as a hot mess that should have been left alone at demo stage, never to see the light of day. Perhaps she could have used the verses for a well constructed song…guess not.
