Published: Tuesday 9th Oct 2012 by David

The Dream, in case you didn’t know, is a very a blessed individual.

Responsible for crafting some of the Pop music’s greatest hits ( ‘Umbrella’, ‘Single Ladies’), the charitable chart topper has welcomed phenomenal news this week.

For, he has been appointed the Executive Vice President of A&R at Def Jam Records, home to Rihanna and  acclaimed vocalist Luke James.

Exciting details below…

On his new role, the writer revealed:

“I am committed, as I have been previously, to bringing the power of belief in the artist back to the forefront.

I share a unique view of an artist and as well as the business of music. I, with the help of many others, have ran a successful business for the last five years in the midst of the ‘Digital Change.’

My concentration and effort will be to the artist to succeed in their dreams and goals. I’ve been a part of watching and participating in the success of many great women and men including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion to name a few.”

Set to work closely with Universal Republic’s CEO Barry Weiss, Dream- born Terius Nash- will oversee the label’s current entertainers and will be responsible for introducing new performers to the group, a role Weiss feels he is all too suited for.

In a statement published last night, he explained:

“The-Dream is a gifted songwriter and producer who writes from a unique cultural point of view. This rare ability sets him apart from all other writers and producers out there.”

Congratulations!

Not even a day in the chair and he name droping already?

  7. Jeff October 9, 2012

I don’t think this is a good choice, he may have had some massive hits &he can name drop all he wants but his music is still hit and miss (cough, cough, Ciara Basic Instinct, choke Mariah Memoirs of An imperfect Angel)
Also, he may be a good music maker but can he sign a star and not just a pretty face (cough, cough, Christina Milian)
    We will have to see

  8. That B*tch (I can’t with these delusional stans) October 9, 2012
