Why would any artists put their career moves on hold for another artists that has nothing to do with their next era(win or fail). Kelly didn’t need to release the same year as Bey, but because of her album push backs they came out together in 2011. Kelly had the entire 2010 to drop an album.

Kelly had every opportunity to release her album a diferent time then Bey back in 2011 but she chose the date best for her which was around the sametime Bey had released her new album. At this point regardless if Bey were to release material the same as Kelly it wouldn’t affect the attention and spotlight that Kelly is now under. Kelly is the #1 r&b “It” girl right now and people is finally giving her her much do respect. It used to get to me as well when Bey would release material the same as Kelly but it’s not gonna work! I can see your perspective, but if you take a moment to revisit Best Friend, you might notice that Wildest Dreams is similar in design and production to this video made by Brandy years back. The point of Brandy’s work is to be consistent and she very much revisits styles that were initially what catapulted her to success in the 90’s. So, I wouldn’t call it cheap, I’d call it genuine and original, especially for her artistic history.

Well RCA did the right thing by pushing the album back so they can create some hype. Right now, Two Eleven is #2 on iTunes which is awesome. It’s a solid R&B (way better than 4) and Brandy is coming off like a new artist which has most likely gained her some new fans who didn’t know who Brandy was. She has also kept true to her R&B mark which has also maintained her consistent fans. Here’s hoping Two Eleven is solid enough to ensure longevity. Good luck Brandy, bought my copy of Two Eleven last night and my favorite jam is “No such thing as too late”.

I was a total Brandy hater at the start of her campaign, but I’ve changed my mind. I haven’t seen a celeb work this hard when they have a new release – doing all the shows, interviews, performances.
