Set to serve as a much needed push for the single, Alicia Keys has finally released the video for her new single ‘Girl On Fire‘, lifted from her studio album of the same name.

Much like the cut itself, Keys’ visual is both rich in tone and texture, and will no doubt come as a welcome surprise to any who feared the clip would fail to live up to expectations.
A little ‘Sade-ish’ by way of look, we’re entirely here for Alicia shying away from serving a literal interpretation of the lyrics, opting not to play the rebel we met in the song but an altruistic ‘Mary Poppins‘ esque character.
A commentary on the ”Do It All‘ approach of the modern woman? Perhaps. All we know is, that save for ‘Karma’, ‘Girl‘ is easily her strongest video to date and has us itching to get our hands on its supporting LP.

I don’t like the video but peaking at #27 is a great feat (NOT a flop) for a comeback R&B song. Alicia Keys’ fans don’t let her fall and that is great (best stans in R&B). She’s gonna do numbers when that album comes out.

I also love “New DAy” and would have loved for Alicia to released it first but I also love this song, so it’s all good. As far as I’m concerned Alicia can’t go wrong with her music. She is so into it that whatever she does has got to work. This song is no exception. Alicia is definitely a “girl on fire”. I love the concept of the video. It’s not too over the top but with a few surprises here and there. Can’t wait for the album.
She sounds horrible on that song, LAWD. I like her but I’ve always felt she was a bit overrated. She’s made decent singles in the past, but her albums always feel incomplete. This one is a NO GO for me, ugh!

I think the song and the video are both FORGETTABLE. There’s nothing about the video that makes me want to see it again and nothing about the song that makes me want to hear it again. She needed a stronger video to bring more appeal to this mediocre song.

I’m really not feeling the video at all, all the actions seem so forced. If the director had filmed them in more natural settings & lighting it would have been more believable. Alicia’s poor acting didn’t help either. Great song though, I just wish the video lived up to expectations.
This is such a cheap looking mid-90s style music video. It’s either those who said this was good were blind or just morons. The set looks cheap, the styling atrocious, the lighting terrible. She probably shot this in a day.
