Easily one of the year’s biggest Urban releases, Alicia Keys‘ latest studio album ‘Girl On Fire’ has been backed by a gurantuan promotional campaign; one which has taken the Grammy winner to many a stage globally.

While commendable given the current sales climate, the numbers are a marked decrease from the 417,000 copies Keys’ last album ‘The Element Of Freedom’ opened with in 2009. In fact, should the project open with sales in the said region, it would serve as the 31 year old’s lowest selling debut (for a traditional release) – ever. For, even her first effort ‘Songs In A Minor’ premiered with sales of 236,000 in 2001.
