After a less than stellar showing on Children In Need this week, the ladies of Girls Aloud redeemed themselves aplenty on Strictly Come Dancing tonight.
Backed by an army of dancers and ample theatrics, Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Cole, and co rocked the semi-final stage of the show at London’s Wembley Arena with comeback single ‘Something New’.
The lead release from the group’s retrospective set ‘Ten’ (due November 26th), ‘Something’ hit iTunes today – a fact which heightened the stakes.
Thankfully, the they delivered. Video awaits below…
Now that is more like it.
Yes, most of their voices are thinner than their waists, but the performance still packed all the required ingredients for a solid watch. A fact due primarily to the sublime lead Nadine, who has clearly been watching The Beyonce Experience DVD. Indeed, her live vocals, sass, and overall stage presence were bliss, as was her Naomi Campbell Walk.
Having blown her initial solo run (hello, Tesco), we so hope Nadine’s bad chickery is rewarded with a major solo deal when the reunion has wrapped. For, she could be a legit force with the right backing and material (i.e. Girls Aloud sound solo, Xenomania).
Your thoughts?
Cheryl Cole – A million lights is a fantastic album, this girl can go international if she had the right team, maybe she should date a rapper.
My favorite songs are Under the sun, Call my name, Girl in the mirror, A million lights and One thousand.
Sometimes you chat s***, Cheryl will never be an international popstar. She’s 30 now and she can’t sing basic notes with out struggling. Poor you, very deluded kid!
I’m still struggling to see what the fuss is about…it wasn’t anything special by a mile…not a patch on people like ms. alexandra’s ‘off duty’ performances…smh
Um…this was awful. They sounded ALL over the place and they are stiff as a board. The only one with a Lil something was the brunette who resembles Victoria Beckham in her Spice Girl days.
not impressed
