‘Va Va Voom’ vixen Nicki Minaj is wasting no time zooming to the studio to start work on her official next release.
Indeed, while fans await her forthcoming effort ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up’ (November 19th), the rapstress took to WestWoodTV to announce plans for her next album – eyeing 2013 as its release year.
The news will undoubtedly satiate Barbs who were not exactly thrilled out the re-release of her previous effort (despite its addition of 8 new songs). Hear the details below:
Taking the Rihanna approach can be a double edged sword. On one hand, it is not uncommon (or difficult) for rappers to release an album a year (sometimes multiple albums in one year). But, for an artist whose public profile is at its highest ever, the opportunity for fans to actually crave new music from the rapstress will be absent given the lack of time between albums – let alone the lack of demand (as evidenced by the performance of recently released singles).
However, we can’t knock the hustle. For, like J.Lo, Xtina, and others before her, it is best to capitalize on the reality talent show train while you’re on it – for one season can see you in while the other out. So, it ultimately does make sense that she would release some new music while aboard ‘American Idol’.
Is 2013 too soon for a new Nicki Minaj album?
