Hot Shot: Rihanna Shares ‘Audition’ Photo – ‘My Life Has Never Been The Same’

Published: Friday 7th Dec 2012 by David

It may be hard to believe, but seven years have passed since the arrival of Island belle Rihanna, storming the charts with her debut single ‘Pon De Replay’– released May 4th 2005.

Fast forward to today and she’s Pop’s most consistent staple, well on her way to matching commercial feats scored by many of the acts she herself grew up listening.

Now, in honor of her unique rise to fame, the star has shared a picture of herself, taken on the day she auditioned for the man who would introduce her to future boss’ Jay Z and Jay Brown, Evan Rogers.

Becoming one of the world’s most bankable brands despite her lack of discernible talent, it’s hard not to applaud Camp Riri for essentially turning her government water into wine.

Riding to the top of the charts on the back of a savvy marketing, skilled producers and self induced dramas, we’re sure we’re not the only ones who can’t wait to see how the next few years of her career pans out…especially with ROC’s recent bid to find a new megastar in Rita Ora.

Indeed, if there’s anything to be learnt from Rihanna’s story, it’s that a singer’s debut isn’t always indicative of what they could go on to do in the future.

It’s for this reason we wonder just how Fenty would cope if ROC decided to up their marketing ante with Ora, who could- by way of a ‘softer‘ aesthetic and ‘prettier’ material- pose as an ‘in house’ threat the minute the world looks past the smoke and mirrors that make up Riri’s cause.

Not sure what we mean?
