Sure, while most songs that that come under category usually come with a Top Ten position to show for its troubles, there are some cuts- especially those of Hip Hop persuasion- that succeed in pulling in mega numbers without chart glory.
Now, in cementing her status as one of 2012’s highest selling acts, Nicki Minaj continues to surprise the world with fresh stats pulled on her single ‘Beez In The Trap‘. A single, many had written off as a commercial failure.

Going some way to explaining why her team have been a little ‘lazy’ with regards to pushing her singles, it is one of the only singles to be released by the Rapper not to have sold 1 million US units within the year of release, with ‘Starships‘ boasting sales of over 4 million units and ‘Pound The Alarm’ which hit the 1 million mark last week.
‘Va Va Voom’:
What’s more interesting however, is that the Hip Hop heavy cut has outsold Madonna‘s 2012 release, ‘Give Me All Your Luvin‘- which the Rapper also features on. Mind blowing, considering its Superbowl 2012 backed push, ‘Luvin’ is yet to hit sales of 600,000 units, marking a commercial low for both Minaj and Madonna.
