In what boils down to her team’s ability to spot hits, the last four years have seen Rihanna secure an installed- and times inactive- audience across the globe, willing and ready to purchase whatever she releases, if pushed well enough.
Though the same undying support hasn’t translated into album sales, it has made it impossible for the star to get through a campaign without scoring multiple singles successes, a fact proved time and time again with every Top Ten smash she has scored since 2007’s ‘Umbrella‘.
So it should come as little surprise then, that one week after performing the number on ‘The X Factor UK’, her single ‘Stay’ has stormed the UK charts- landing her 24th Top Ten single in the country.
Details below…
Debuting at #6, ‘Stay‘ sits one spot above its older sister ‘Diamonds‘ which now spends its 11th week in the Top Ten.
Meanwhile, on the Urban Chart, ‘Stay‘ sits pretty at #2 while ‘Diamonds‘ sits one spot below, both songs outsold by Will.i.am‘s ‘Scream & Shout‘ Britney Spears collabo which holds court at #1.
On an album’s front, ‘Unapologetic’ slips one spot to #7, while her 2010 LP ‘Loud’ rises 19 spots to claim the #100 spot, 109 weeks after its ‘Only Girl In The World’ driven debut.
However, in what we’d say comes as the best piece of news, her 2011 smash hit ‘We Found Love’ rose 45 spots in the last seven days- generated by its appearance during her ‘X Factor’ set.
