‘The Female Boss’: Tulisa Faces UK Chart Bomb

Published: Wednesday 5th Dec 2012 by David

As one third of Brit trio ‘NDubz’, ‘Sight Of You’ star Tulisa enjoyed three UK Top Ten albums and an impressive 7 Top Ten singles- catapulting the band to the forefront of the market’s Pop scene.

However, since parting ways with the group and joining ITV’s ‘X Factor UK‘, the singer’s public image and the career built around it has failed to live up to expectations-  despite the benefit of the show’s ratings and notoriety

Now, following the failure that was her second single ‘Live It Up’, her brand is on course to crash and burn once again. This time, via her debut album, ‘The Female Boss’.

Bad news below…

With only 7,000 copies sold since its release this week, ‘Boss’ now sits at #17 on the mid week tally and is set to fall out of the Top 20 by the time the week’s final sales are announced this Sunday.

What’s worse…is that her latest single ‘Sight Of You’ is now unlikely to nab a spot in the Top Ten, despite performing the number on the X Factor, all too telling of her failed attempts to capitalize on her stint on the series.

However, while some have been quick to label the release a ‘chart failure’, we’d say the singer’s numbers are befitting of an act of her caliber.

An act, who though lacking in both talent and star quality, was presented to the British public as a premium Pop Princess akin to ‘Call My Name‘ sensation Cheryl Cole.

However, as her camp would have discovered this week, Tulisa is anything but premium and- if we’re being completely honest- would see her time better spent playing back up for her more gifted group member/cousin Dappy Contostavlos, whose debut album ‘Bad Intentions‘ peaked at #6, three months ago.

Unfortunately for her, it’ll take more than an unwanted reunion to save what’s left of her commercial value, set to be shattered even further if axed from the ‘X Factor‘ to accomodate Ms.Cole.
